Description To strategically source the right products and services through effective application of Sourcing best practises, conducting commercial events, establish supplier leverage and contract negotiations, contract implementation and management, thereby substantially reducing the total cost of ownership while maintaining and improving quality, service and technology.
RESPONSIBILITIES Integrate and co-ordinate category specific procurement management process Conducting category-specific value chain analysis to determine optimal configuration of suppliers to meet commercial, technical, quality and operational objectives. Identify key improvement areas on an ongoing basis and implement in order to maximise savings. Prepare and present monthly/ weekly reports and in so doing identify trends and potential cost savings. Monitor category spend against budget. Responsible for continuous improvement within the commodity sourcing capacity. Tracking and reporting TCO benefits derived from the value opportunities. Develop and maintain appropriate commodity specific procurement sourcing strategies Guiding alignment with FA procurement policy, legal requirements and contracting strategies. Align the sourcing strategy with technical, commercial and demand management levers. Guiding and directing Divisional specific category sourcing. Directing the delivery of quantifiable savings proportionate to the commodity spend. Monitor alignment with negotiated and contractual agreements. Supplier Management Identify best suppliers based on business requirements. Define and manager key supplier relationships. Negotiate the best prices and contract/ purchasing terms with key suppliers. Resolve supplier issues. Provide category specific reporting. Developing and manages supplier relations with suppliers for assigned commodities. Managing problem identification, diagnosis and resolution, and issue escalation and resolution with suppliers. Leading supplier clarification meetings during bid process for assigned commodities. Analysing B-BBEE opportunities across assigned commodities. Managing the implementation of appropriate supplier development opportunities. Talent Management Developing the capabilities of the team members by establishing and monitoring individual development plans. Directing the effective working relationships and establishing synergy with other teams within FA. Managing the effective performance and development of all reporting staff. Mentoring and coaching staff where required. Influencing and presenting of KPI reports at appropriate forums. Advising on sourcing strategies and providing expertise and knowledge transfer to relevant teams. Assist in growth and development of team members. Stakeholder Management Guiding the team towards a thorough understanding of the internal customer business and operational issues in order to influence the sourcing strategy and overall approach. Guiding the determining customer needs. Monitoring and managing customer satisfaction and timely corrective action. Managing ad maintaining close relationships with key internal stakeholders. Managing specific inter-dependencies with key business processes.
Requirements QUALIFICATIONS BCom (Hons) or equivalent or CIPS level 6. MBA will be an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE 10 years previous procurement management and purchasing experience with responsibility for delivering financial servings. Experience in mining, mining services or construction would be advantageous. Intense experience in global strategic sourcing and commercial supply change management.
