Dis-Chem Pharmacies' Head Office in Midrand has an opportunity available for a Category Marketing Coordinator to join the procurement team. The main purpose of this role is to effectively organize and coordinate the operations in the category activities through marketing channels.
Minimum Requirements Essential: Grade 12 / MatricMinimum 1-2 years relevant experience in the Retail IndustryDiploma or Degree in MarketingAdvantageous: Agency experience in RetailJob Specification Promotions and Broadsheets: Manage the promotional broadsheet from start to finish.Adhere to the promotional plan and deadlines as well as the process set out by the Marketing team.Proofread and check all allocated campaigns.Ensure catalogues are signed off by Category Buyer and Category Head.Coordinate changes between the category buyer, advertising team, and vendors.Ensure queries received from the advertising team and vendors regarding the campaign are answered quickly and accurately.Ensure that deals are given timeously to be loaded on the IT System.Assist the Category Buyer in collating all marketing material completed on time.Create and ensure sign off on the vendor billing documents for marketing for their promotion, including broadsheets, TV, Gondola, and all other promotional activities necessary.Compile and ensure sign off on the tally document for their promotion.Assist with the layout and design of Category communications such as presentations, support materials, research papers, and brochures.Ensure that promotional plans are in line with the Dis-Chem standard operating procedures.Attend to ad hoc promotional marketing.Stakeholder Liaison: Maintain relationships and effectively communicate with suppliers regarding relevant marketing activities.Assist with communication on marketing activities between Dis-Chem and the advertising team.General Administration: Accurately perform duties using Dis-Chem's internal systems SAP, BI, Qlikview.Complete a brief sheet for all promotions to be used for billing, tallies, advertising briefs, and Purchase Orders.Ensure the process is followed as set out by the Category Buyer.Research & Reporting: Conduct market research to determine ad campaign strategies.Keep abreast of the current market trends and developments.Report on all queries and findings to the Category Buyer and Advertising team.Competencies Essential: Knowledge of Marketing Practices and Principles. In-depth knowledge of the Retail, Beauty, FMCG, Health & Pharmacy industry in SA.Find solutions to potential issues as well as knowing when to escalate the problem and what level to escalate it to.Convey ideas and facts verbally using language.Grasp the meaning of information written in English.Build constructive working relationships characterized by a high level of acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect.Recognize the need for procedures and follow relevant procedures.Take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieve results with little oversight.
