A position has become available for a Category Assortment Planner to join our dynamic team.To curate and manage product assortment for SPAR by aligning the product mix with customer preferences, market trends, and business goals to meet customer demand, maximise sales and profitability for SPAR.KEY PERFORMANCE AREASAssortment Planning:Contribute to the development of merchandising strategies that align customer expectations with company goals.Implement assortment plans which are aligned with the overall merchandising and business strategy.Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure effective product displays and presentations in stores.Inventory Management:Collaborate with inventory management teams to balance supply and demand, ensuring optimal stock levels, while minimising overstock and stockouts.Monitor product life cycles, making recommendations for product introductions, discontinuations, and promotions.Work closely with the planners and merchandising team on designing and implementing thoughtful inventory strategies that promote profitable sales growth and satisfy customer demand.Research & Analysis:Develop and provide appropriate business analysis to influence future purchases and assortment strategies, including analyses to identify key drivers of performance.Analyse sales data and identify performance trends to make recommendations for assortment adjustments to drive revenue.Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance the analysis, execution, and tracking of category performance and other key strategic initiatives.Finance, Admin & Reporting:Manage the budget for all product assortment projects ensuring cost effectiveness and adherence to financial guidelines.Provide periodic management reporting to relevant stakeholders and project teams on assortment performance, sales trends, and inventory turnover.Stakeholder Relationship Management:Ensure collaborative relationships with internal partners, external partners, and vendors to enhance offerings through partnerships and special collaborations.Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to negotiate favourable terms, pricing, and terms of delivery to support assortment strategies.Ad Hoc:Perform any other tasks that are requested by management.Minimum Qualifications:Matric.Business related qualification, e.g.
Marketing, Supply Chain, Business Commerce, or related fields.3 Years experience in retail planning, assortment management, or related roles in retail/e-Commerce environments.The ideal candidate will satisfy the following skills requirements:Excellent knowledge of Retail Operations.Candidate must be principled, values driven & results focused.Thrive in transformation & diversity management.
