The position reports to the Head of Merchandising, Promotions & Catalogue.
Your responsibilities will include: Management of a team that is responsible for the catalogue data uploads of new catalogue listings and editing of existing catalogue listings across both Retail and MarketplaceReporting on Catalogue Activity and Productivity ensuring turnaround times and quality targets are achieved.Fault finding, root cause investigations, preventative measures and continuous improvementsEnsuring standards and processes are in place to deliver accurate and complete listingsBalancing of resources between different operational teams including resource planning and task pipeline management to deliver on performance targets related to quality, throughput and stakeholder management.Ensuring the correct implementation of the Catalogue Product Information Requirements documentMaintain any changes to the catalogue systems, process and procedures and update the catalogue user guides accordinglyWorking cross functionally with the Retail Divisionals and Marketplace Team as the point of contact for internal prioritiesWorking with the Catalogue product team ensure the roadmap supports strategies for improving quality and scale of new product listings Where relevant, manage the catalogue creation charge out function for MerchantsCoordinating and controlling photography services Attributes required: Solutions-oriented, can-do attitude, self-motivatedStrong analytical and critical thinking, using data to inform decisionsStrong team management, structured thinking & prioritization skillsAttention to detail and high standards of qualityStrong communication skills, both written and spokenExcellent team player Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree or similar related to management or 5-10 years relevant working experience3 Years+ managerial experienceExperience with large-data (Advantageous)Retail/FMCG experience (Advantageous)Proven track record in managing a large teamTrack record of improving business systems and processesAble to communicate business requirements to product teams The Environment: takealot.com employees are entrepreneurial and dynamic, smart, customer-centric, fun and have the shared ambition of takealot.com being the leading e-commerce company in Africa.We have fun, work hard, take ownership, work in teams to create solutions, and are always open to direct feedback/new ideas on where we can improveWe are short on ego and high on outputWe are doers and not only thinkers, it's all in the execution after allWe love what we do and what we are creating We seek to Employ an Extra Ordinary Mind who:
