Key Purpose To provide additional support through proactive duration management of income protection and lump sum disability claims management, with a key focus on intervention strategies and facilitation of early return to work where possible for specified and/or subjective medical conditions.
Areas of responsibility may include but are not limited to: Identify, screen, review, and proactively develop and execute an appropriate plan of action for relevant claims to ensure case management interventions are applied.Investigate and analyse claims information in conjunction with contract provisions to determine benefit eligibility in line with claims management resources.Initiate telephonic interviews with claimants to gather additional information for early intervention.Monitor the rehabilitation process by liaising with clients, carers, treating doctors, therapists, and reassurers to ensure clients are motivated, compliant, and receiving optimal management.Facilitate and manage client referrals to Healthy Company and/or digital therapeutic resources to ensure emotional and psychological wellbeing of clients.Follow all claims management procedures to support clients and enable potential return to work and job accommodation opportunities where necessary.Understand occupations and duties in relation to nominated occupation and impact on disability.Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in health-related industry (Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy).2-3 years clinical experience from a hospital, clinic, or private setting.Assessment of psychiatric disorders, functional impairment, and rehabilitation.Advantageous: Risk management knowledge with experience in long-term insurance.Medical knowledge in terms of medical terminology, interpretation, and how these impact the ability to work.Experience with return-to-work programs, vocational rehabilitation, and clinical case management.EMPLOYMENT EQUITY
