ERM Certification and Verification Services (ERM CVS)ERM CVS is a rapidly growing global Business Unit within ERM, and we are looking to grow our accredited VVB and broader corporate assurance services in Continental Europe.ERM is a leading global provider of climate risk, environmental, health, safety, social and sustainability services. We have a diverse client base which includes corporates across most sectors.Our ERM CVS assurance team provides high quality assurance engagements across the full range sustainability information and has done this credibly for over 25 years.Due to the importance of climate and broader sustainability strategy and commitments, the importance of disclosing third-party verified data and setting carbon neutral goals and net zero claims has significantly increased.Part of enabling our clients to achieve their carbon reduction targets is to ensure that high quality carbon credits are in the market.ERM CVS' accredited VVB has a critical role to play.JOB PURPOSEDue to a significant growth in demand for high value carbon offsets and carbon credits, there is an opportunity for a result driven, enthusiastic, experienced individual to lead the sales and delivery of our carbon offset/carbon credit VVB service line AND support the growth of our Corporate Assurance team in continental Europe.Our ERM CVS team interacts with ERM's other practice areas. The successful candidate will work closely with the global ERM CVS assurance team and ERM's newly formed Climate Market Team in addition to ERM's climate change team, and ERM's Corporate Sustainability and Disclosure team, to build the service line, the team, and lead in sales and delivery.The successful candidate will join our multidisciplinary team, supporting ERM CVS' development and management of the carbon offset/credit verification service line through:Selling profitable Validation and Verification services and other assurance services in strategic market areasCreating and implementing an actionable and results focused business plan for expanding brand awareness within the VVB space within existing and emerging global marketsManaging the sales pipeline from opportunity identification through winIdentifying, developing, and implementing Sectoral Scopes under Verra and Gold Standard (others as appropriate)Enabling delivery via developing and managing a VVB delivery team through internal training and recruitment (as necessary)Serving as lead auditor (as necessary) on successful offset/credit assurance engagementsEnabling additional sales of broader Corporate Assurance offerings across continental Europe.Technical skills and knowledgeDemonstrated successful and profitable sales experience of Validation and Verification services conducted under Accreditation for Verra, Gold Standards and other organizationsStrong buyer network within the voluntary carbon offset and credit marketExperience in maintaining an audited management system (audited by a certification body)Relevant technical degree (particularly interested to recruit individuals with nature-based solutions, process engineering or similar (physics, chemistry) qualifications.Experience with nature-based solutions and their role in carbon offsets and carbon credits.5+ years' experience in sales application of carbon offset verification schemes (Verra, Gold Standard, CDM), climate change, consulting, related industry position.Good experience and knowledge of GHG accounting and reporting principles, mechanisms, methodologies and schemes, e.g. GHG Protocol, SBTi, EEIO etc.Good awareness / appreciation of:Climate legislation and client's drivers in Continental Europe.Management systems.Economic analysis of GHG/energy reductions.Links between energy, natural systems, and climate change.Experience selling and conducting non-financial audit standards in accordance with ISAE 3000 and ISO 14064-3Proficiency in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Characteristics and soft skillsAmiable and able to form authentic connections with others quicklyAmbitious go-getter who learns quickly and has effective verbal and written communication skills.Takes ownership for quality of work deliverables and outcomesResponsive while maintaining attention to detailThrives in a fast-paced environmentBright and with clear passion/drive to be in this fieldAdaptable, committed and dependable team playerWilling to learn and take on feedbackConfident and reliable when working independentlyTakes pride in their work and delivers outputs to high standardsProactive, self-motivated and generally enthusiastic
