Job Introduction: Canister Technician - G4S Deposita - Durban - South Africa Deposita SA, a world renowned Cash Management Company Specializing in Smart Solutions For Banking, Retail & Wholesale Sectors has a vacancy in the Operations Department.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining ABM's as well as docking stations.
The successful incumbent should be a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which technical support plays within a successful business unit.
The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.
Role Responsibility: 1.
Effective management of Operations Canister Technician should adhere to the set standards and targets set by the line manager he/she works under to ensure that good quality workmanship is maintained at all times.
Assembly and service of the container the RFID Tag is the most important component of the container.
It is of utmost importance that the set standards on how the tag is mounted on the bracket and how the bracket is installed is adhered to ensure that the canister communicates with the Tag Reader on the container frame.
All serviced and assembled containers need to be initialised to ensure that the canister number is recorded on the RFID Tag.
It is very important that the canister technician ensures that the correct container number is recorded on the tag.
It is of utmost importance that the overall container is in a proper condition with all the necessary risk components in place before containers leave the workstation.
It is expected from the canister technician to keep his /her workstation clean at all times and that WIP & tools are stored correctly according to the standards set by management.2.
Effective management of reporting Any unforeseen incidents to be reported to the line manager immediately.
Any incidents related to money found while maintenance is performed on containers to be reported to the line manager immediately.
Stock and equipment needed to repair any containers must be reported to the line manager.
Repair stock to be reported and W/OFF stock. 3.
Effective management of the risk process and compliance within the region Any containers not checked before sending out can lead to a loss forthe business and this needs to be compiled by the canistertechnician according to SOP's.4.
Health and Safety Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the branch/region/national safety plans for each year.
Participate in safety forums created by company for example safety meetings and safety talks.
Report all safety incidents to the relevant people.
Discuss all safety incidents on all levels.
Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meetings/committee/representative/management.
Attend safety education and refresher programs.
Comply with safety policies and procedures at the workplace.
Distribute safety information as and when required.
Wear protective clothing all the time.
The Ideal Candidate: 1.
Qualification & Technical Experience Required Grade 12 Qualification / NQF Level 4.
