Campus Bursar

Our client, a leading private school group has an opportunity available for a Campus Bursar to join their team. This position will be based in Centurion. Qualification required: BCom/ BCompt or a 3 year Financial Diploma. Skills and experience required: Previous experience in a school would be advantageous Ability to multitask and keep up with a fast paced environment Strong administrative and reporting skills Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role Must be fully computer literate Pastel 9 would be advantageous Excellent communication with parents and pupils Ability to deal em-pathetically with people at all levels Job description: Report to Brand Finance Manager Check monthly payroll and timesheets and liaise with Head office to resolve anomalies and/or queries Reviews budget, monitors expenditure against actual POs daily, weekly and monthly and advises staff and Principal/s accordingly Prepares annual budget/s, ensure inclusion and planning for special campus events, tours and recoveries Monthly preparation of variance analysis for Principal and Brand Finance Manager Meets with parents to resolve billing and account queries Collate, capture and check ad hoc billing for music, bus and aftercare, books and levies Receives arrears/ outstanding debts and advises Head Office accordingly Reconciles student billing, Manages and monitors repayment plans Manages and controls petty cash, receives cheque and card payments and receipts these Banks payments received for ad hoc purchases and events Monitor and reconcile purchases Places Purchase orders (POs) with suppliers, receive and check invoices and submit for approval Monitors and reports on monthly charges (rent, water, rates, electricity, etc )
