CAD/GIS Coordinator, C4 Seriti, New Vaal Colliery, Free State Internal & External Ref no: NVC041/24GS Closing date: 17 September 2024 The role: The CAD/GIS Coordinator is primarily responsible for developing and maintaining the CAD and GIS database, as well as preparing maps and documents for the operation. This role ensures that the surveying and mapping archive is backed up and complies with legal requirements.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Data capturing of all operational activities within the mine license area.Managing consumables and ensuring the integrity of all captured data.Maintaining all survey plans and databases.Downloading and storing data according to standards.Recording information according to standards.Importing data into CAD software.Ensuring CAD/GIS standards remain relevant to current practice.Generating plans for mining, compiling production reports, and preparing ad hoc reports.Providing input to the Survey Manager/Section Manager: Planning regarding production results and figures.Drafting sectional plans, indicating mining hazards.Drafting hazard identification for inclusion in Risk Assessments.Drafting monthly and weekly production plans.Complying with statutory plans as prescribed in the MHSA chapter 7.Requirements: CoM draughting certificate/diploma (CAD), plus demonstrated competency in operating a GIS.3 years of experience as a Draughtsman/Junior Surveyor + Membership in the GIS fraternity & membership of IMSSA.Supervisory development.FIA compulsory.Knowledge of the mining industry and relevant legislation, including the Mine Health and Safety Act.Good working knowledge of the Coal Mining Process.Advanced computer literacy (MS Office).Valid driver's license.Defensive driving.In possession of or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness.Advantageous: Good working knowledge of Seriti policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.S2 ORMP.Please note: Please use Google Chrome as the default browser when applying to enable the attachment of documents.A CV with certified copies (certification within a 3-month period) of relevant qualifications, along with an ID document & valid driver's license, must accompany your application.Appointments will be made in line with Employment Equity targets.All applicants are thanked for their interest.Applications which have not been responded to within 30 days of the closing date should be regarded as unsuccessful.Communication will be with shortlisted candidates only.
