CAD DesignerPosition PurposeThe Designer is responsible for making and modifying all technical drawings, new products and accessories with a focus on quality, cost and manufacturability.
Principal AccountabilitiesTechnical drawingsOn instruction from engineer / manager, makes and modifies all drawings for incoming orders to meet the order requirementsGenerates BOM's, production and customer drawingsManages the CAD libraryTechnical support: Completes files which contain all necessary technical information on our productsProduce all drawings and BOM'sGuides and supports shop employees during assembling and testing of prototypesSets up the CAD libraries for all required options and accessoriesOther activitiesSupports order processing in drawing activities such as Certified Prints, Submittal drawings, CAD libraries, manufacturing drawings and dxfsApplies knowledge and experience in special projects with specific focus on efficiency improvements and quality improvements.ProfileKnowledge & Skill RequirementsThorough understanding of Sheetmetal design+5 years relevant experience in similar sector2D and 3D design software experience (Inventor / AutoCAD preferred)Parametric modeling, design new and maintain existing 3D parametric modelsMS OfficeRelevant Draughtsman qualification - at least a National Diploma but preferably BTech / Advanced Diploma in Engineering / BDegreeMulti-Disciplinary Drawing Office PracticeKnowledge of Vault advantageousAttention to detail and accuracyAble to work collaboratively within a team as well as independentlyGood interpersonal and communication skills
