Job Purpose:
To assist in the fulfilling of the Procurement function at CPUT in line with the Procurement policy and relevant supply chain management, legislation and regulations. To ensure value for money is achieved on all purchased activities (goods or services) by maximizing the buying power. The position is that of a Buyer to procure goods and services for the institution servicing departments.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
A relevant National Diploma or a Degree in Procurement/Logistics/Supply Chain or equivalent qualification with the same majorsThree (3) years of relevant experience in a procurement environmentGood communication skills (written and verbal)Recommendation: Experience in a higher education environmentAdditional short courses in supply chain and procurement will be an added advantageKey Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities: Procurement function implementation in accordance with the procurement policy and relevant legislationNeeds AnalysisHandling of queriesPlacing of ordersMarketing of procurement functionLiaising with suppliers and keeping up to date with market procurement trendsLiaising with and assisting end users throughout the procurement functionGeneral administrationAd hoc duties assigned by the line managerKnowledge of store practicesRelevant Legislation and Code of Good PracticeGood Communication skills (written and verbal)ITS SystemGood Time managementComputer literacy on MicrosoftGeneral Information: Closing date: 20 December 2024
