Buyer Poetry - Ladieswear

An opportunity has just become available in our Leisurewear Department for a resilient, innovative and resourceful Buyer who can add value to our Ladieswear team through the successful trending, sourcing and procurement of Ladieswear merchandise for Poetry.
Our ideal candidate will have the ability to significantly contribute towards the achievement of our department and business objectives as well as have the high energy levels required for this fast-paced, exciting and dynamic retail environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Range preparation, coordination and presentationRange execution in alignment with the business objectivesPresenting range reviewsBuilding and maintaining relationships with suppliersNegotiate and manage supplier contractsEffectively collaborating with the relevant stakeholders and departmentsOverseeing the Product Quality and FitControlling sample stockAttend tradeshows and conferences to stay abreast of industry standardsGeneral buying administrative functionsKnowledge, Experience & Qualifications Required
Grade 12 certificate and a relevant tertiary qualification is required5 years of retail merchandise buying experience of ladieswear is essentialExperience working in a clothing retail environment is an important requirementWorking knowledge of the retail cycle and merchandise buying principles and processesA clear understanding of ladieswear styling, components and constructionA working knowledge of the latest Microsoft packages is requiredJob Related Competencies
