Our client, a leader in the retail industry, is looking for an experienced and motivated Buyer to join their team in Durban. Specializing in menswear and boyswear, this role requires a candidate who understands the latest trends in men's and boyswear fashion and has a passion for sourcing quality products.
DescriptionThe Buyer for Men's and Boyswear will be responsible for selecting, sourcing, and purchasing products that meet the company's target market preferences and align with the brand's values. The successful candidate will have strong negotiation skills, an eye for fashion trends, and the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively. This role requires a balance of creativity, financial acumen, and an understanding of consumer behaviour.
Key Responsibilities: Source and select menswear and boyswear products that reflect the company's brand and customer preferences.Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and new brands that could be added to the product line.Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating terms and contracts to achieve favourable outcomes.Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of stock based on sales performance and seasonal demand.Collaborate with merchandising, design, and marketing teams to align product offerings with sales strategies and promotional campaigns.Analyse sales data to identify best-sellers and underperforming items, making necessary adjustments to the buying strategy.Attend trade shows, supplier meetings, and fashion events to stay updated on industry trends and new product offerings.Ensure all products meet the company's quality standards and are delivered on time and within budget.Report regularly on sales performance, market trends, and buying strategies to senior management.Education ProfileMatric (Grade 12)Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Buyer, preferably in menswear and boyswear or related fashion categories.Strong understanding of fashion trends in menswear and boyswear.Proven track record in vendor management and negotiation.Analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail management systems.Key Attributes: Passion for fashion, particularly in menswear and boyswear.Strong attention to detail.Creative mindset with the ability to identify emerging trends.Effective teamwork and collaboration skills.Accountability and proactive problem-solving abilities.Application InstructionsPlease forward your CV to ******.
