Key Responsibilities: Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services Identify and assess potential suppliers Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate contracts and pricing Maintain and update the supplier database Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality goods and services Assist in budget preparation and cost analysis for purchasing activities Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements Ensure procurement activities are within budget constraints Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and regulations Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records and documentation Assist in preparing reports and presentations for management Work closely with other departments, such as operations, finance, and engineering, to understand procurement needs Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to align purchasing activities with project timelines and requirements Provide regular updates on procurement status and any issues or delays Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, new products, and suppliers Analyze market conditions to identify potential risks and opportunities in the supply chain Minimum Requirements: Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field 3 to 5 years of experience in buying, with a focus on mining equipment and materials Strong knowledge of the mining industry, including its equipment and materials requirements Proficiency in ERP software and tools Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Effective communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment MS Excel reporting - advanced
