Minimum requirements: Degree in Consumer Science or related qualification. 3 5 Years exp. as a Buyer in ANY industry. Love and Passion for cycling/running. Experience in sports apparel would be an advantage. Personality traits: Strong negotiation skills. Analytical skills. Business acumen. Self motivated. Passion for retail and consumer electronics. Excellent verbal and written Communication. Ability to plan and organise workload to consistently achieve deadlines. Being able to present ideas for approval. Goal orientated. Team player. Proactive. Responsibilities: Responsible for selecting and negotiating with approved vendors and placing purchase orders in response to product, materials, services and supply requirements established by various departments within the organisation. Have the ability to understand the customers needs and then use the knowledge to help the company to be more profitable. Lastly, to study & identify trends in the marketplace. Sourcing of products. Supplier negotiations. Achieving budget sales and margins. Achieve the desired stock turns by the department. Achieve EBIT budget. Manage total expenses in line with budget, continuously looking for improvements in efficiency and driving overall savings. Analyse & interpret the financial performance indicators of the business. Maintain and build relationships with suppliers. Dealt with store issues/complaints decisively and with empathy in a manner that protected the company's interests. Market Intelligence. Competitor/merchandise intelligence/trends. Brand development of portfolio-managed brands. Understand demographic profile. Develop a merchandise strategy and assortment MAP. Grow market share. Compile marketing campaigns, in conjunction with the marketing department, for all new products. Finalised products for all promotions to be submitted. Store visits. General administration.
