Job Description Anticipated Contract End Date/Length: 6 -months contract Work set-up: On site (Occasional travel) Our client in the global professional services industry is seeking a Buyer who will be responsible for sourcing a wide range of services and materials to support the refinery shutdown and maintenance project.
The position will report to the Lead Buyer and is part of a team responsible for all purchasing and expediting of goods and services for the project.
The Buying team works closely with the Sourcing team to execute the turnaround contracting plan and to manage spend into preferred channels.. What you will do: Execute single event material and service orders and release against blanket orders for assigned requirements.
Bid preparation, analysis and negotiation.
Collaborate with Sourcing Specialists on supplier performance and pricing issues.
Support the execution of the turnaround contract plan and appropriate spend channel management.
Support the achievement of P2P KPI performance levels.
Pro-active sourcing of materials and services locally and internationally.
Expediting of open orders to ensure timely delivery.
Coordinate and facilitate the preparation of KYC and vendor creation requirements through the off-shore P2P team.
Apply policies and practices to improve business results while maintaining positive relationships.
Navigate and use procurement systems including Ariba, SAP and MS Office.
Able to work in a high volume and fast paced environment.
Manage own time to ensure efficient and productive work output.
Qualifications A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Finance is advantageous.
Proven ability to plan and prioritize tasks, meeting deadlines effectively.
Strong communication skills, both internally and externally.
Ability to manage high volumes of workloads with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
Ability to demonstrate a strong work ethic, delivering results with urgency and integrity.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, with minimal supervision.
Proficient in negotiation and problem-solving.
Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to build strong, customer-focused relationships with business partners.
Knowledge or experience in Procurement/Supply Chain.
Familiarity with P2P (Procure-to-Pay) processes.
Prior turnaround experience in the Oil and Gas sector is preferred.
Experience using procurement tools such as Ariba eSourcing and SAP is preferred.
