Business Unit Manager
Minimum Requirements:
Matric.
BSC in a Life Science discipline (advantageous).
Minimum 6 years technical and commercial experience within the Coatings and Construction industries.
Must have a sound understanding of pricing structures.
Minimum 5 years management role leading a team.
Responsibilities:
Manage a team of Product Managers and Account Managers.
Joint calling with the sales team.
Manage a portfolio for Coatings and Construction.
Manage a portfolio of customers.
Ensure a healthy working platform in line with division and company objectives.
Ensure materialization of the working platform.
Set a clear sales strategy for local and abroad markets.
New business development.
Actively look for opportunities outside the current portfolio for possible acquisitions.
Meet tight deadlines across the business.
Direct and assertively push the sales team to promote new products and explore new markets.
Maintain a healthy and active relationship with key accounts.
Ensure the sales team is working with the CRM system.
Manage working capital: debtors days, no bad debts, stock holding targets are met, and the sales team is taking stock as per forecast.
Forecast every month.
Report back on monthly sales vs the previous year vs budget with comments.
Continuously search for opportunities within the market.
Ensure market data is relevant and updated for market intelligence.
Strategically grow the portfolio of customers.
Strategize the business outlook for 3 to 5 years and ensure the materialization of objectives.
Grow customer base year on year in terms of volume, revenue, and margins.
12-month budgeting.
5-6 year forecasting.
Assist the sales team with technical briefs and new product development.
Conduct price negotiations at senior levels.
Promote company products and image.
Maintain industry/market knowledge within all current industries responsible for.
