Business Systems Analyst – Industry SpecialistReference: JHB006289-MM1-1NOTE: This is a hybrid work model (2 days in office)One of our clients in the banking sector, based in Johannesburg, is urgently looking for a Business Systems Analyst – Industry Specialist to be responsible for converting business initiatives into world-class IT solutions. The design efforts will extend to both existing and/or new systems and databases.Responsible for researching problems, planning solutions, recommending solutions, and coordinating development to meet the needs of business and other external stakeholders.Interact with product owners, business analysts, solution strategists, and the QA Team, and also interact with other project team members like vendors, project managers, project sponsors, product managers, and project stakeholders.Duties & ResponsibilitiesIn order to be considered, the following is required:Degree or Diploma and/or CBAP Certification7 to 10 years relevant systems analysis experience4 to 5 years Payments and Forex industry domain experienceStrong working knowledge of Use Cases and UMLExposure to the system or applications being developed would be an added advantageAll elements that make up the Forex IT infrastructureDevelopment and Production Incident ManagementScope Change ManagementMust have a solid understanding of traditional and emerging cross-border payment rails, like SwiftShould ideally have a solid understanding of the ISO20022 payments message standards (i.e. PAIN, PACS, and CAMPT messages)Exposure to SAMOS and cross-border local market infrastructure RTGS payments will also be beneficialUnderstands and keeps abreast of the payments modernization industry changesUnderstanding and facilitating requirements sessions that include financial payment flows and postings to internal financial accountsResponsibilities:Responsible for the analysis and design of new systems, major enhancements to existing systems, and general maintenance of systemsLeading and facilitating requirements gathering sessions across both the business and technological domain to produce functional and system specificationsParticipate in system design sessions to arrive at an optimal solution, assisting with the identification of risks and issues within the projects and mitigation strategiesIn conjunction with the Systems Architect or Developer, analyze and design:Integration files or messages (e.g. web service definitions, XML schemas, business functions, flat files, APIs)Help design and update system configurations (outside of the production environment)Write SQL queries, interrogate database tables for analysis purposes, and assist in designing database structuresParticipate in systems functional design sessions for 'run the bank' enhancements and upgrades or migrations which require functional expertise/analysisParticipate in systems functional design sessions for 'change the bank' and 'grow the bank' initiatives as well as brand new products or capabilitiesExamine and analyze current process flows and recommend solutions for improving and restructuring processes required to meet business objectives and to address industry changes and/or opportunitiesGuide suggestions for appropriate solutions considering cost, risk, delivery, and feasibilityModel system designs to meet business objectives, including behavioral and structural UML diagramsEnsure that requirements models and analyses are done per internationally accepted best practicesModel and design screens for usability, documenting screen flows and designsInterpret and provide system solutions to meet requirements, along with the functional and system documentationCo-create with business stakeholders and run projects end to end by applying sound payments industry knowledgeAssist with problem analysis and resolutionInterface across all teams involved in the project as neededAssist QA team by reviewing test cases and scenariosMay be required to perform sanity/acceptance testsAttend and actively contribute towards the SA Forum/Community of PracticeDrive business profitability in the context of cost management through Information Technology solutionsArticulate and document functional and systems requirements clearlyEnsure that all requirements are documented within agreed deadlinesEnsure all artefacts delivered are peer and stakeholder reviewed regularlyEnsure that all work is of high standard and meets customer expectationsActively participate in daily stand-up meetingsIf you would like to email your CV directly, please send it to ****** consider your application as unsuccessful if you have not received a response within 14 days of submitting your application.
