Job Title: Senior Manager – Business Operations Specialist from IT and Telecoms Reports to: ExecutivesJob Overview:You will provide visionary leadership in developing, coordinating, and driving the centres across various business domains within the Telecoms Business. This executive role is responsible for overseeing managed services, including cloud, security, connectivity, IoT, and digital business marketplace solutions, across eight African operating companies. The successful candidate must have a strong strategic and operational focus, leveraging managed services platforms, delivering enterprise solutions, and ensuring standardization across diverse markets.You will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the group, ensuring that strategies align with the company's overall goals and support innovation. The ideal candidate will bring consulting expertise, a deep understanding of managed services, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational execution.
Key Responsibilities:Strategy Development and Execution: Lead the design and implementation of scalable managed services strategies across cloud, security, IoT, connectivity, and digital business domains for multiple African markets.Centre of Excellence Development: Coordinate and establish COEs to optimize service delivery across markets, ensuring efficient operations and resource allocation across Business.Business Case Development: Prepare, evaluate, and present compelling business cases to drive new product development, investment, and service standardization across regions.Multidisciplinary Leadership: Collaborate across functional teams to drive initiatives and manage complex projects, ensuring the alignment of goals, leveraging shared platform investments, and fostering a cohesive product and service delivery model.Stakeholder Management: Build strong working relationships with operating companies across Africa, facilitating consensus through data-driven analysis, collaboration, and influence.Consulting and Advisory Role: Offer advisory support to African markets, helping them deploy group-wide standards while tailoring services to local market needs and constraints.Program Coordination: Manage large, cross-functional programs, ensuring seamless communication and coordination between teams, platforms, and markets.Technical Oversight: Ensure that cutting-edge technology is integrated into the company's solutions, driving innovation and efficiency in product offerings.Process Optimization and Standardization: Drive the standardization of operating models and service delivery processes across different markets, balancing the need for local adaptation with global efficiencies.Technology Leadership: Keep abreast of emerging technologies in managed services, cloud, and security, positioning the company as a market leader in innovation and customer solutions.Skills & Competencies:Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate strategy into actionable plans.Proficiency in developing and implementing managed services across multiple African markets.Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to manage diverse stakeholders and build consensus.Strong analytical and consulting experience, able to convey complex concepts in simple terms.Proficiency with tools such as Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentations.Ability to work autonomously in a high-paced, dynamic environment.Experience with professional services and a consulting background is highly desired.Qualifications:MBA from a recognized institution.Relevant BCom or BsC Degree in IS or IT or DEV OPSMinimum of 10 years of experience in professional services, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a technology-driven environment.Experience in managing cloud, security, IoT, or other enterprise technology services across African markets.Preferred Experience:Previous experience in a JSE-listed company or large multinational.Deep knowledge of enterprise-level managed services and product strategies.Demonstrated experience working with complex, multidisciplinary programs in a diverse set of markets.
