Your opportunity:

Under the direction of the Manager, Caretaking Services, the Business Officer provides administrative and financial support to the supervisors and managers within Caretaking Services. Acts as the first point of contact for visitors and guests to Caretaking Services, answers incoming calls and requests and redirects when necessary.

Your responsibilities will include: Planning and administering expenditures for operating budgetMonitoring department budget to ensure expenditures remain within budgeted allocationsApplying the University Guide to Financial Management and other applicable policies, agency and regulatory requirementsHandling sensitive and/or confidential informationGenerating standard financial reportsProcessing payrollActing as the first point of contact for general enquiriesEssential Qualifications: Advanced College Diploma (3 years) in business or accounting or related discipline; or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.Minimum three years of relevant experience. Experience with preparing and monitoring budgets, analysis statistical data and using financial systems (e.g. SAP/FIS).Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office programs.Demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently in order to meet frequent and overlapping deadlines.Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy under conditions of frequent interruptions and multiple demands.Excellent analytical, communication and customer service skills.Excellent communication skills, critical thinking, interpersonal and organizational skills. USW Pay Band 10 -- $69,455 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $88,819. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
