Business Manager/Chartered AccountantA socially responsible housing enterprise based in Durban, dedicated to providing quality housing solutions to the community, and committed to ensuring safe and sustainable living environments for all, with a tenant base of approximately 1,964 units, is actively seeking an experienced Business Manager/Chartered Accountant.As the Business Manager/Chartered Accountant, the successful individual will hold a dual role, combining strategic business management with financial expertise to drive the success and sustainability of the organisation. Reporting directly to the CEO, these are the key responsibilities:Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupervision of finance team including Accountant General, Accountant Debtors, and Creditors ClerkReview of monthly finance reports, payroll, and VATPresentation of management accounts to the CEO on a monthly basisReview of quarterly reports submitted to SHRAAssistance with preparation for board meetings and audit preparationImplementation of processes to ensure compliance with SHRA regulations.Strategic Business Management:Development and implementation of strategic plans to achieve organizational goals.Financial analysis and forecasting to support decision-making.Identification of growth opportunities and risk management strategiesCollaboration with department heads to align financial objectives with overall business objectives.Procurement Department Setup and Management:Assistance in establishing the procurement department.Implementation of policies, processes, and compliance monitoringLeasing and Debtors Department Oversight:Review and sign off of new lease agreements.Ensuring compliance with internal processes and policiesOversight of leasing and debtor's department staffLegal Affairs Coordination:Close collaboration with Legal DirectorEnsuring legal compliance in all operationsReporting & Systems Management:Oversight of company-wide digitization processImplementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Review and enhancement of policies and procedures.Implementation of organizational controls and risk mitigation measuresDesired Experience & QualificationQualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with a bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, or related field (Must have post Articles and membership to SAICA)Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the housing or real estate sectorStrong understanding of finance, procurement, leasing, and debt management processesProven track record of strategic business planning and implementationExcellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Knowledge of SHRA regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.Package & RemunerationBasic Salary - R50 000 PM, depending on experience.Interested?If you are a dynamic and results-oriented professional with a passion for driving both financial excellence and strategic business growth, we invite you to submit your resume and cover letter detailing your suitability for the role.
