We are looking for a Business Integrity Advisor with a proven track record in these disciplines in the private sector. The successful candidate is the subject matter expert that supports the investment teams and investee companies and is the focal point/support on all business integrity and risk matters.Capability BuildingBusiness Integrity FrameworkEstablish a robust Business Integrity Framework for due diligence on new investment opportunities and ongoing monitoring of existing investments. The framework needs to be risk-based and incorporate inter alia the following key risk areas:Bribery and corruptionMoney launderingTerrorist financingFraudBreaches of sanctions regimesTax evasion and other criminal conductWhistleblowingCorporate governance issuesConflict risksPolitical exposure and political risksReputational risksData and cyber securityThe Business Integrity Framework will build on existing policies and procedures within AIIM and OMAI and will incorporate the requirements of the fund agreements.Develop a training program for AIIM and OMAI on the framework.Develop and maintain an effective reporting mechanism for integrity-related issues, including regular reporting to senior management and the Board of Directors.Build a network of external contacts relevant to enhancing the business's knowledge and effectiveness w.r.t BI matters.Business Integrity Investment Portfolio SupportLead on Business Integrity due diligence for pipeline investments across Africa and provide written analysis of Business Integrity risks to the investment teams for inclusion in the investment committee paper.Effectively partner with investment and legal teams to ensure that necessary Business Integrity requirements are included in legal agreements.Build on findings of the Business Integrity due diligence, develop monitoring plans to ensure identified gaps are closed.Support investment teams on any Business Integrity matters that arise during the investment horizon.Developing a training program for staff portfolio company board representatives on the importance of Business Integrity and our approach.Monitoring, evaluation and challenging of reports to be included.AIIM Fund Legal CompliancePerform regular compliance reviews of constitutional investor agreements for the funds, to ensure all agreements remain aligned with legal, regulatory, and business integrity requirements (e.g. limited partnership agreements and side letters).Skills, Qualifications and Experience requiredRelevant business or legal post-graduate degree.Relevant professional qualification.Minimum 7+ years risk and/or Business Integrity experience.Proficiency in MS Office.Excellent communication skills.Significant experience in investment risk management and proven a Business Integrity to contribute to development and implementation of Business Integrity framework.Deep and wide-ranging technical understanding of Business Integrity risks.Experience in development finance institution's approach of Business Integrity function and international best practice in this field.Competencies:Strong engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to gain the respect of, and buy-in from staff and stakeholders at all levels, including Board level.A self-starter / proactive, showing strong action orientation, with excellent organisational, planning and prioritising skills.Display strong attention to detail, a high level of accuracy in her/his work and be able to perform under pressure.Strong project management skills/ability to see projects completed.Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.Strong ability to build and maintain relationships and networks.Be reliable, have integrity and display a professional approach.Maintain confidentiality of all information, both from internal and external sources.EducationPostgraduate (Required)Closing Date06 December 2024The appointment will be made from the designated group in line with the Employment Equity Plan of Old Mutual South Africa and the specific business unit in question.Old Mutual Limited is pro-vaccination and encourages its workforce to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.All prospective employees are required to disclose their vaccination status as part of the recruitment process.Please refer to the Old Mutual's Covid-19 vaccination policy for further detail.
