TalentMatch is looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our rapidly expanding team. We're a fast-growth company in scale-up mode, and we're looking for an entrepreneurial, highly-motivated individual ready to take that next big step in their sales career.


TalentMatch connects experienced professionals in South Africa (just like you!) with international employers from around the world (places like the USA, Australia and Europe). Since 2016, we've been providing employability services to professionals across technology, finance, digital marketing, graphic design, and more.


The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in driving the growth of TalentMatch by generating pipeline, creating opportunities through outbound efforts, qualifying potential leads, initiating conversations, creating opportunities, and paving the way for successful sales conversions.


What You'll Be Doing

This is a pure hunting sales role that includes engaging with prospect organisations of all sizes, complexities, and needs. You will be responsible for identifying, uncovering, and qualifying opportunities that contribute to a significant proportion of the pipeline development for sales across Australia and the United States.


Create new leads and business opportunities: Manage the outbound lead contact process across the Australian / US markets
Build pipeline: Generate high-value sales pipeline through both strategic and targeted prospecting
Generate conversations: Engage hiring managers and decision makers through phone, email, LinkedIn and other channels
Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders to understand their business needs, challenges, and goals
Research and planning: Use research to understand the accounts and their unique use cases, problems and stakeholders ahead of contacting them
Nurturing Leads: Strategically following up with previous contacts in your lead cycle through various contact methods
Task management: Diligence in call execution, email, outbound through LinkedIn and follow-up activities
Sales Management: Work with the sales team to develop targeted lists, call strategies and messaging. Collaborating to hand over key goals and information to Account Executives
CRM Hygiene: Maintain HubSpot data integrity for the prospects you contact


What We're Looking For

You're likely a great fit if you have:

Over 2 years of experience in outbound prospecting/inside sales (prior experience selling software or services is preferred)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
Comfortable and confident interacting with a wide-range of stakeholders, including senior-level management and founders
High emotional intelligence to employ the most effective sales strategies/tactics
Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and work within deadlines with little supervision
Strong problem identification skills, with a proactive and strategic mindset to solve them for all stakeholders in a business
Experience working with CRM systems/prospecting tools like HubSpot would be ideal (but not essential)
