Business Development Manager (Retail Investments) Cape Town

The role
As part of a national retail sales and distribution team, you will be tasked with developing and cultivating key strategic conversations and relationships in the Western Cape retail investment market. Your client base and stakeholders will predominantly consist of IFAs, DFMs, Multi-managers and LISP platforms.  As a result, solid experience in the retail investment market and strong networks in this space is key. The person will need to follow a collaborative team approach that adheres to the companies values and ethos.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Market and distribute the companies suite of investment products to the Western Cape retail markets
Expand the footprint and brand of the company in the Western Cape
Build a network of supporting IFAs, DFMs, multi-managers and LISP consultants selling the companies funds
Provide excellent service to any person interested or invested in the companies funds
Take initiative in the promotion of the company to the Retail market
Collaborate with the institutional team to build the companies investment philosophy and brand
Build partnerships with other fund managers where it makes sense to join forces

Requirements:

Experience in similar role required (min 3-5 years) with good network of clients in Western Cape regions
Strong understanding of the investment industry, investment products and structures
Technically strong and able to understand different investment approaches, philosophies and investment management styles.
Must be able to build and maintain client relationships
Strong communication, presentation, writing and influencing skills

Qualifications
Completed degree in the Commercial / Investment / Financial Degree / Postgraduate, Preference for a completed CFP and/or CFA studies.
Systems Experience
Strong MS Office skills, Experience working with a CRM tools / Salesforce preferable
