Business Development Manager - Kempton ParkA Logistics Company is looking to employ a Business Development Manager.Main Purpose of the RoleIdentify and source profitable, large scale, new business opportunities to V Solutions and develop and initiate a sales approach that results in closing new business opportunities to meet or exceed an individual target in support of the overall. Drive new business growth nationally and within our chosen verticals. Manage the solutions design process to produce high quality proposals and profitable solutions that minimize risk exposure, acting as the key liaison between the company and the customer. Build a long term/multi-year pipeline to support long term growth targets.Duties and ResponsibilitiesMeet or exceed personal new business target with an acceptable profit and risk profile to contribute to the overall new business target.Manage the opportunity lifecycle to closure.Develop compelling business value propositions for new business opportunities to meet growth targets.Articulate value to clients using industry knowledge to develop clear value statements of products.Identify sources and calculate quantified values.Align specific client objectives with overall objectives to ensure sustainable growth.Translate client strategy and tactical objectives into supply chain requirements.Link client strategy and supply chain requirements to offerings and services.Develop and maintain a multi-year, large scale pipeline of new business opportunities to ensure continuous growth.Grow the business by 10% per annum.Ensure all opportunities are accurately recorded in MS Dynamics (CRM System) and progressed through the sales cycle.Understand and align revenue targets with closing cycles of business opportunities within the pipeline.Take ownership of the tender process to ensure successful sales, ensuring tenders and RQFs are completed on time according to client requirements.Build and articulate the solutions design effectively.Ensure approval processes are followed and standards met.Ensure QA of the final document (proofreading, all inserts, exec summary, etc.).Ensure successful implementation of the solutions sold, ensuring revenue is realized and client expectations are met or exceeded.Ensure the implementation process is followed and client sign-off of milestones is obtained.Ensure effective communication with the client during the implementation phase.Minimum RequirementsGrade 12Logistics / Supply Chain / CPIM / CSCP Essential (MBA advantage)Advanced computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Basic knowledge of SharePoint and MS Visio is advantageous. Basic knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems and ERPs (working knowledge of Red Prairie & SAP is advantageous). Knowledge of Automotive production systems is advantageous.Job Related RequirementsC-Level Negotiation Skills, high business acumen, problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and excellent sales skills (Lions or equivalent). 10 years of successfully selling logistics solutions (warehouse & distribution) to large customers.Added Advantages for the RoleUnderstanding of Warehouse Management Systems, Automotive Production Systems, Lean, coordinating and influencing diverse teams. Experience in negotiating with clients at a director or C level. Experience working in the Automotive (Production / Aftermarket) and/or Consumer Retail sectors.
