Business Development Manager

Introduction
We are urgently seeking a Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth and expand the client base within the region. The candidate will be responsible for developing sales strategies and collaborating with the Head Office marketing team to achieve organisational objectives. The ideal candidate must be a high-performing sales professional who can assist with customer acquisition, achieve revenue growth targets, and keep the company competitive and innovative. The incumbent will maximise sales potential, craft sales plans, and justify those plans for approval by the executive team. A proven track record of networking in the public sector and a clear understanding of procurement processes are essential.
Duties & Responsibilities
Project Delivery

Ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and by the specified scope and quality standards.
Supervising the execution of each project phase
Monitoring progress and adjusting as needed
Ensuring the project stay on schedule and within budget

Sales Strategy Development

Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with the overall business objectives of the management consulting organisation.
Analyse market trends, identify opportunities and devise plans to capitalise on them.

Client Relationship Management

Promote and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders within the region.
Understand client needs, anticipate requirements, and provide tailored solutions to enhance client satisfaction and loyalty.

Business Development

Identify new business opportunities and pursue strategic partnerships to expand the client base.
Develop proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals to generate revenue and meet sales targets.

Performance Management

Ensure the achievement of key sales performance indicators (KPIs).
Analyse sales data, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.

Collaboration

Collaborate with head office sales and marketing, operations, and finance departments to ensure alignment and constructive interaction.
Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to drive coordinated efforts towards business objectives.

Market Intelligence

Keep pace with industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics that may impact sales performance.
Use market intelligence to inform sales strategies and adapt to changing business environments.

Reporting

Compile and present reports and presentations on sales performance, forecasts, and trends for senior management.
Support sales decisions by gathering insights and making recommendations based on data analysis.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Completed postgraduate degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field (preferably a master's degree).
A minimum of 10 years of work experience in management consulting or a related industry, with a proven history of success in sales leadership roles in management consulting or professional services.
Understanding the business dynamics especially pertaining to the awareness of Public Sector customer requirements
Experience in managing Public Sector clients of varied service needs.
Must be able to identify diverse opportunities
Strong understanding of business development strategies, excellent networking techniques, and best practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and people skills.
Analytical thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
Focused mindset on driving revenue growth and achieving targets.
Advanced skills in CRM software and other sales productivity tools.
