Job Title: Business Development Manager Job Summary: The Business Development Manager is responsible for generating new business opportunities and maintaining relationships with clients by understanding their financial needs and offering relevant banking products. The Business Development Manager is a true hunter that is responsible for building a new client base and growing the business as per the banks targets and objectives. This role requires an individual who is customer-oriented, driven, and knowledgeable about banking products and services . The ideal candidate will be able to meet sales targets and deliver a positive banking experience that fosters trust and client loyalty. Key Responsibilities: 1. Client Acquisition and Relationship Building: o Identify potential clients and develop relationships to meet sales objectives. o Engage clients through outbound calls, networking, and referrals to present banking products and services. o Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships by providing exceptional customer service. 2. Sales and Target Achievement: o Achieve or exceed sales targets for banking products which includes opening of accounts, growth in deposits, advances, foreign exchange business and profitability. o To market the bank as an International Bank with opportunities in foreign trade services and to bring in new investments in terms of foreign exchange and revenue for the bank. o To be part of the Management team for strategy and opening new branches, new business, training and development of all staff. o Prepare and present tailored financial solutions based on clients' individual needs and financial goals. o Collaborate with other departments to meet clients' holistic financial needs. 3. Product Knowledge and Cross-Selling: o Stay updated on all banking products, promotions, and market trends to provide informed solutions. o Cross-sell relevant products that complement clients existing portfolio and enhance their banking experience. o Educate clients on available financial products and services that may benefit them. 4. Customer Service Excellence: o Handle client inquiries and issues in a timely and professional manner to ensure customer satisfaction. o Gather feedback from clients to continuously improve customer service and banking processes. 5. Market Research and Analysis: o Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, emerging industry trends, and competitor activities. o Regularly analyse sales performance, customer trends, and feedback to refine sales strategies and meet evolving client needs. 6. Compliance and Risk Management: o Ensure adherence to all banking regulations, policies, and procedures while conducting sales activities. o Maintain confidentiality of client information and practice ethical sales behaviour at all times. Qualifications and Skills: o Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field and a RE5 qualification o Proven experience in sales, preferably within the financial or banking industry. o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively build rapport with clients. o Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills. o Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve sales targets. o Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office Suite. o Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance standards. o Good communication, listening and presentation skills. o Financial and sector knowledge including banking products and markets o Ability to analyse and research information o Ability to explain complex information clearly and simply o Good sales and negotiation skills o Proficient in Mandarin a mandatory requirement Work Environment: This position is often based in a bank branch, requiring a professional demeanour and adherence to a dress code. It may involve a combination of in-branch activities and outside client visits.
