The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be a crucial team member responsible for driving growth and market expansion within a specific product segment at our energy storage Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). BDM will play a strategic role in identifying new business opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and ensuring the successful commercialisation of our energy storage solutions.Responsibilities:Market Analysis and Strategy Development:Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and growth opportunities within the designated product segment.Develop and implement strategic business development plans to penetrate target markets and achieve revenue targets.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine product positioning, development, pricing strategies, and go-to-market plans.Client Engagement and Relationship Management.Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and industry influencers.Conduct regular client meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations to showcase the value proposition of our energy storage solutions.New Business Development:Identify and prioritise new business opportunities within the product segment, leveraging market insights and industry connections.Lead the end-to-end sales process, from initial prospecting and lead generation to delivery through the channel, supported by engineering, internal sales, account managers and technical support to deliver excellent operational service.Drive the development of tailored proposals, presentations, and business cases to effectively communicate the value proposition of our offerings to potential clients.Sales Forecasting and Performance Tracking:Monitor sales performance metrics, pipeline progression, and revenue forecasts to track progress against targets.Provide regular updates and reports to the Chief Commercial Officer on sales activities, market trends, and competitive insights.Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimisation of sales operations.Essential Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or commercial roles within the energy sector or related industries. Strong understanding of energy storage technologies, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks.Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
