Role Overview:
As Business Development Manager, you will drive Valor Hospitalitys expansion across the Africa region, focusing on identifying new business opportunities, forging impactful partnerships, and executing strategic growth initiatives. This role is key to expanding our footprint and solidifying Valor Hospitality as a leader in hospitality management and advisory services throughout Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Research and Strategy Development
Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify lucrative markets and untapped growth opportunities.
Develop and implement strategies to approach new business prospects, with a focus on high-potential markets across the region.
Align opportunities with Valors business objectives, ensuring relevance to company growth and financial targets.
Lead Generation and Partnership Building
Establish and nurture relationships with potential clients, hotel owners, and investors.
Actively participate in industry conferences, networking events, and client meetings to elevate Valors visibility and business pipeline.
Maintain a robust network of connections to identify partnership opportunities across the region.
Proposal Development and Presentation
Craft compelling business proposals and client presentations tailored to diverse client needs.
Excel in presenting Valors hospitality services, including Financial Management, Revenue and Reservations, Sales and Marketing, Human Resources, Payroll, Training and Development, and Advisory.
Demonstrate strong presentation skills and proficiency in engaging clients with persuasive communication.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align proposals with Valors operational and service capabilities.
Collaboration and Coordination
Partner with Operations, Finance, and Marketing teams to synchronize business development efforts with operational objectives.
Work closely with HR and Training to ensure recruitment and onboarding initiatives align with client requirements and growth strategy.
Contract Negotiation and Deal Closing
Draft, review, and finalize management agreements, letters of intent (LOIs), and other contractual documents.
Lead negotiations with strong negotiating skills to secure favorable terms and establish long-term partnerships.
Oversee the contract handover process, ensuring smooth transitions to operational teams.
Performance Tracking and Reporting
Maintain detailed, up-to-date records of client interactions, lead management, and progress in CRM systems.
Regularly report to the Management Team on business development activities, pipeline status, and achievements.
Provide timely updates and insights on business development movements in weekly reports.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years in business development or sales within the hospitality or service industry, with a proven record of closing deals and driving growth.
A strong network within the African hospitality industry is advantageous.
Skills and Competencies:
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong negotiation and influencing abilities, with a talent for identifying mutually beneficial solutions.
Capable of managing multiple projects independently while maintaining strategic focus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software; familiarity with hospitality management systems is a plus.
