Business Development Manager - Freight Forwarding

One of our clients in the Freight Forwarding industry is currently looking for a BDM/Sales Representative to join their dynamic team.Summary: The Sales Executive needs to generate new business opportunities and build strong client relationships. You will play a key role in achieving our sales targets through prospecting, cold calling, proposal creation, and client interaction.Responsibilities:New Business Development: Identify and qualify potential clients through lead generation and prospecting activities. Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals. Negotiate and close deals in accordance with company policies. Manage the new business signup process, ensuring adherence to established procedures. Stay informed about industry trends, updates, and challenges, and share this information with relevant stakeholders.Client Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with new clients through regular communication (visits, phone calls, etc.). Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving any issues promptly. Meet reporting requirements to both management and clients as needed. Assist with handling client queries as required.CRM & Data Management: Utilize the CRM system to effectively track and manage the sales pipeline. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client information within the CRM. Perform regular CRM updates as instructed by management.Proposal & Quote Generation: Prepare accurate and competitive quotes and proposals based on client requirements. Ensure quotes and proposals adhere to company standards and formats. Maintain effective communication with internal teams (operations and administration) to support proposal development.Administrative Duties: Maintain a well-organized and up-to-date sales pipeline. Complete all assigned reports (e.g., Co reports) accurately and in a timely manner. Schedule and manage meetings in the calendar and CRM system. Plan and document weekly sales activities. Complete any additional reports as requested. Ensure a complete credit application package is submitted for processing by the Sales Manager. Follow any other reasonable and lawful instructions provided by management.Minimum Requirements: Matric/Grade 12 - 5 years' experience as a BDM/Sales Representative in the Freight Forwarding industry. Solid knowledge of Air, Road and Sea freight.
