Job DescriptionCompany in Pretoria East is looking for a Business Development Manager for Commercial Law Services and Legal Training to join their team.The Business Development Manager will be responsible for cultivating new relationships, building strong networks with industry specialists, generating leads and clients, understanding client legal needs and requirements, solution presentations, proposal writing, negotiating agreements, and closing deals.Responsibilities:Market Research and Competitor Analysis:Stay updated on industry trends within the technical, industrial, mining, construction, payroll bureaus, and outsourced services sectors.Analyze competitors' offerings and market positioning.Design and execute strategic marketing plans to maintain a competitive edge.Continuously monitor changing customer and market trends to identify opportunities for business growth.Prospecting and Lead Generation:Identify and target potential clients and market segments within the specified sectors.Develop and execute prospecting strategies to discover new clients and generate leads.Utilize various methods, including cold calling, meetings (virtual and in-person), networking, social media, and market research, to generate leads.Craft initial sales messaging to uncover opportunities and qualify leads for Payrolling and HR Solutions software, emphasizing their relevance to the target sectors.Needs Analysis & Solution Design:Collaborate with clients to understand their unique HR and payroll needs, especially within technical, industrial, mining, construction, payroll bureaus, and outsourced services contexts.Propose tailored solutions using our Payrolling and HR Solutions software, highlighting the benefits and strategic advantages.Educate clients on how our software can effectively address their specific challenges and requirements.Proposal Development, Deal Closure & Negotiations:Develop and present comprehensive proposals outlining the suitability of our Payrolling and HR Solutions software.Negotiate contracts and draft new proposals as needed.Ensure the quality of proposals and bids.Successfully close new business deals within the target sectors.Client Relationship Building & Management:Cultivate strong relationships with clients, including key decision-makers and influencers.Establish productive and professional relationships with personnel in client organizations within the specified sectors.Develop and implement sales strategies and tactical sales/marketing plans to achieve revenue growth and profitability targets.Reporting:Maintain accurate records of sales activities and provide regular reports to management.Engage with CRM system to register and accurately update leads, opportunity, and client activity data.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reports & forecasts.Requirements:8+ years of strategic sales, business development, and partnerships experience, with a focus on the legal industry, specifically commercial law services and legal training.Proven track record of successfully selling legal services and solutions to clients, including extensive experience in selling into large accounts with strong existing client relationships. This includes opportunity identification, hunting for, and closing deals across large accounts in the legal sector.Financial proficiency, including an understanding of financial statements and the ability to interpret and craft financial models relevant to legal services.Technical background in selling and delivering legal services and training.Hands-on experience with CRM software and account management systems.Strong understanding of legal processes within the commercial law and legal training sectors.Solid grasp of sales performance metrics within the legal industry.Excellent communication and presentation skills tailored to legal services.Demonstrated negotiation skills and the ability to close complex legal deals.Exceptional coordination of multiple business units to support account growth in the legal sector.Analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills, particularly within legal contexts.Availability to travel as needed (generally local and very ad hoc) for legal business development.Proficiency in CRM software for managing legal client relationships and activities.Ability to address customer legal requests in a timely manner.Skilled in identifying potential areas of growth within the legal services and legal training sectors.Competence in various marketing strategies, including digital marketing, specific to legal services.Ability to consistently meet set targets and quotas in the legal industry.Exceptional ability to analyse legal market trends and identify new legal services and products.Ability to maintain strong relationships with key clients to support continued growth with recurring legal business.Subject line: Business Development ManagerPackage & RemunerationSalary Market RelatedHR Services, Recruitment & Selection
