About the job Business Development Manager - DurbanType: PermanentLocation: DurbanPurpose of the roleManaging and supervising the Business Development Team by developing business plans, meeting planned goals, converting leads. The role will also involve careful strategic planning and positioning in the appropriate markets and enhancing the position and reputation of the business. Requires oversight of the activities and performance of the team. This position reports directly to the Sales Director.Skills and Competencies requiredStrong people and interpersonal engagementProbing and analytical approachStrong client-allied approachExcellent oral, written and presentation communicationOwn vehicle essentialIn-depth understanding of ICT productsExperiencePrevious work history in a similar environment of at least five yearsResponsibilitiesResearch and identify new business opportunities including new markets, growth areas, trendsAchieve and/or exceed set financial targets for personal and teamDrive Business Development managers to become specialists to assist with cross-selling into the client baseResponsible for performance management of the BDM team nationallyManage all BDM opportunitiesDrive sales holistically in the BDM team and assist the team with closing dealsSet goals for the business development team and develop strategies to meet those goalsGenerate leads and cold call prospective clientsPursue leads and move them through the sales cycleMeet with clients face to faceReport on weekly client engagements for self and teamFoster and develop relationships with clientsUnderstand the needs of clients and be able to respond effectively to meet these requirementsPreparation of quotes and proposalsEnsure proposals are managed in terms of accuracy and completed within SLA
