Business Development Manager (D4T) - Cape TownYou will be a member of the Business Development Team and will play a proactive part in developing within the culture of the current Business Development and Relationship Management teams across the business.
Hunt for New Business opportunities within the region of Western Cape, and follow up to ensure conversion to business.
Business Development As a Business Development Manager, the focus will be on new business projects and initiatives, constantly thinking of new innovative ideas for enhancing the public profile of CIG;Assist with targeting potential clients to source new business through your Current and Existing Networks and Clientele.Self-Motivated Team Player in an established department or senior role.Attending/hosting meetings, preparation for and the follow-up of new business leads and prospects;Provide demonstrations to clients, Brokers or IFAs on CIG products and systems;Travel to Clients/Brokers or IFAs in South Africa, reporting to the Johannesburg office.Must be able to generate New Business via various methods i.e., e-mail, LinkedIn campaigns, Networking Events and by telephone;Dealing with New Business lead enquiries via various methods i.e., e-mail, LinkedIn campaigns, Events, and telephone;When needed, Assist with fellow SA Business Development Managers.Building relationships with Clients, Brokers and IFAs whilst also Maintaining existing client relationships;Meet or surpass sales targets set for the Team and play your part in achieving success.Send out application forms, introducer agreements and company information;New business projects and initiatives, constantly thinking of new innovative ideas for increasing sales;Heading the implementation of relationship management events including Boardroom Lunches, seminars and networking opportunities.Reflect with integrity the values of CIG as part of its public facing profile;Helping to prepare formal reports for the CIG Executive committee meetings;Monitoring New Business statistics as or when required;Quarterly reports and Statistic analysis;Play an active role in daily and weekly team meetings;Implementing and streamlining new processes;Monitoring iDCRM Sales performance and report to your direct line Manager.Continuous improvement of statistical reporting of BD activity via iDCRM;To attend regular meetings on all areas of sales to ensure we are working as a team.Liaise with – Head of Business Development to maintain and develop mutually supportive relationships.Communicate proactively with the Customer Services and Client Support team to ensure new and existing BD relationships are well serviced through onboarding and ongoing processes;Support relevant BD focused social media activities.Maintain good understanding of relevant risk management and compliance processes and procedures relevant to the activities of the BD team;Support other members of the Group Business Development team including those based in other offices - the Isle of Man.At all times the Groups values should be at the heart of everything and consistency of evidence of adherence to the values will be a key aspect of the role.

Skills Required RE5 Certificate;Bachelor's Degrees, Advanced Diploma or CFP Advantageous;Minimum 5 Years experience within a similar role;Must have an existing network of potential clients within the Western Cape region;Must have a proven track record and experience of successful business development within a financial services environment, and within investments;Sound technical product knowledge of the industry;Offshore investment knowledge is advantageous;Excellent presentation skills – to both small and larger audiences of clients;Client Centric and Professional;Core regulatory responsibilities of the role RE5 Certificate;Be good and proper in line with the FSCA and Regulatory bodies.Who we are: We're a family orientated company, with clients at the heart of everything we do.
