Business Development Executive – Main Duties: All Campaigns: The Business Development Executive will be working as part of a thriving team and will be responsible for growing Delegate sales across our conference portfolios by generating leads, getting to communicate with conference delegates, and close their participation on our various conference campaigns taking place on an annual basis.The Business Development Executive will build his/her own network of conference delegates from various sectors depending on the conference campaign.
You are expected to reach a minimum target of weekly, monthly, and annual sales while working in a collaborative Business Development environment.
Role:As this position involves an entrepreneurial role, part of the Business Development Executive's main requirement is to be able to think outside of the box, develop and execute a sales strategy seamlessly, willing to work hard, have fun and focus on building great products that add value to the sectors we serve.The Business Development Executive is expected to "extremely" be innovative, organized, informed and up to date on the latest news involving our campaigns, have strong communication skills, be detail orientated and ambitious.The Business Development Executive reports directly to the Executive Director for Business Development and works closely with all departments including marketing, production, customer service, operations, and database teams.The Business Development is expected to reach a minimum target of weekly, monthly, and annual sales while working in a collaborative Business Development environment.
Key Accountabilities/ Key Performance Indicators:Achievement of sales revenue targets within timelinesNumber of effective calls or client meetings made per weekDelegates satisfaction levelsTimely & accurate reporting of sales results and activitiesMain duties and responsibilities:Sell delegate packages to existing or new clients, in accordance with set targets to ensure the revenue budget is achieved and exceeded.Exceed sales revenue targets for each event project and introduce new revenue from as wide a pool of potential clientsMaintain excellent customer relations and have a thorough understanding of the markets in which you are selling as well as the client's customer baseWork in a team environment cross-functionally and identify specific issues of interestIdentify opportunities for cross-selling on other campaigns for colleagues
Job outline: Sell delegate packages for conferences and expos over the telephoneActively seek new customers/delegates from all relevant sourcesResearch and conduct sales campaigns to attract delegatesWork closely across functions to maximize sales opportunitiesAttend sector specific events for face-to-face networking and business development purposesBuild relationships and contacts with new accounts and create new revenue opportunities from untapped sectorsAct as part of the on-site team, ensuring the smooth running of the event
Reporting:Provide the Event Director with weekly report detailing personal activities and forecastData capture of sales activities/calls and updating the CRMCompletion of sales progress reporting on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis to enablesenior management to be updated on the progress of the events (e.g.
revenue vs target, activity reporting etc.
)
Provide the marketing team with market intelligence to assist with campaignsContinually monitor and research the market using online resources, gaining customer feedback, attending and industry networking where appropriateEffective communication with other internal departments including operations, marketing, finance to maximize client experience
