Red Ember Recruitment is looking for a Business Development Engineer for an International well-established Defense Industry company. We are looking for someone to further our footprint and market share. The goal is to drive sustainable financial growth through boosting sales, developing products and solutions, and forging strong relationships with their clients.
You will be the front of the company and will have the dedication to create and apply an effective sales strategy. To excel in this role, you should have a hunger to chase and close new business. This position involves 70% Business Related skills and 30% Engineering. The preference for Engineers as Business Developers is because of their technical engineering skills and knowledge towards detail of the products.

Responsibilities and Duties will Include:
Promote the company's products/services addressing or predicting clients' objectives.
Prepare sales contracts ensuring adherence to law-established rules and guidelines.
Develop goals for the development team and business growth and ensure they are met.
Keep record of sales, revenue, invoices, and travel itineraries.
Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support.
Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction.
Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs.
Contact potential clients to establish a network and arrange meetings (Foreign and domestic).
Identify new markets and improve sales.
Plan and oversee new marketing initiatives.
Attend conferences, meetings, and industry-related events.
Requirements
BEng Degree – Mechanical, Mechatronic, Industrial, Electrical or Electronic.
Matric with at least 6 distinctions, or an average of 85% (Non-negotiable).
Very strong interpersonal skills.
Own reliable transport.
Must be willing to travel internationally.
Must be willing and able to work more than just office hours depending on workload and designated region time differences.
Well presented.
Strong communication skills and IT fluency.
The candidate must have a BEng degree in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, aeronautical, or industrial engineering (NOT chemical or civil engineering). Candidates with a BTech do not qualify. It is a key requirement for the candidate to have an average of 85% for matric (6 distinctions or more, of which mathematics and physical science must be distinctions). We also require a copy of the matric results along with the CV. No experience required, but a willingness to network and engage with potential and existing clients, so good people skills are required. Be willing to travel internationally when required.
