Job Opportunity: Business Development Consultant Homeware Retail Chain Market About the Role:As a Sales Representative, you will promote and sell our range of homeware items, with a primary focus on rugs, readymade curtains and drapery hardware such as curtain rods and accessories.
Your mission will include building strong relationships with retail stores, driving sales growth, and ensuring our products are well-positioned in the competitive market.
Location: Cape Town based, travel to Johannesburg and Durban Key Responsibilities: Sales and Customer Engagement: Collaborate with independent retail store buyers, understanding their needs and showcasing the benefits of stocking our products.Demonstrate product features to enhance customer satisfaction.Achieve and exceed sales targets with effective product promotions and upselling.Product Knowledge: Stay informed about the latest homeware trends, especially in curtaining and drapery hardware.Conduct training sessions for store staff to improve product knowledge and ease the sales process.Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with retail store buyers, management and staff, ensuring optimal product visibility and placement.Work with visual merchandisers to implement effective merchandising strategies.Market Analysis and Reporting: Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive pricing, and consumer preferences.Provide insights and feedback to management on market dynamics and growth opportunities.Prepare and submit timely sales reports through CRM systems.What Were Looking For: 3-5 years of proven sales experience, preferably in homeware and dealing with buyers at corporate level.In-depth knowledge of curtains and drapery hardware is an advantage.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a talent for building rapport.Goal-driven, proactive, and motivated to exceed targets.Willingness to travel within the designated region.What Youll Bring to the Team: Strong negotiation and presentation skills.Commercial acumen and the ability to understand market pricing and trends.Bold objection handling and the ability to sell both value and brand.Adaptability in a fast-paced retail environment.Perks of the Role: Competitive basic salary.Car, fuel, and cell phone allowance.Commission on sales.Start Date: Negotiable for ideal candidate but aim for April 2025
