An NFP organisation is recruiting for a Business Development Consultant to join their organisation which strives to improve the lives of people. This will include conceptualising and developing proposals and prospecting partners for funding and maintaining effective partnerships.
Duties & Responsibilities
Prospects research: Identify, track and share grant opportunities, share prospective philanthropic donors through desktop research.
Coordinate proposal writing: Draft proposals, as per grant requirements; gather supporting documents; manage central database of submitted proposals.
Maintain Business Development system: Track grant submissions and donor approaches on a central database.
Monitoring: Maintain M&E dashboard/system.
Evaluation and learning: Coordinate funder reporting; encourage learning and knowledge sharing across projects and teams.
Build strategic partnerships for sustainable development.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
Demonstrated experience utilising diverse, proactive strategies to competitively position the organisation for new funding and productive institutional relationships.
Proven successful track record in securing funding from different local and international agencies and other donors.
Extensive experience in developing proposals, budgets, log frames, work plans, and other components of proposals.
Strategic leadership, representation, negotiation and decision-making skills with an entrepreneurial approach in developing funding streams, designing funding mechanisms, including social enterprise models.
Strong networking capacity with foundations, trusts, government and corporate donors.
Excellent experience with content writing, proposal writing, report writing and editing.
Self-motivated with a commitment to continuously produce results focused on impact.
Entrepreneurial thinker with highly evolved relationship building skills and strong written and oral communication skills in the English language.
Remuneration package commensurate with qualifications and experience.
