The role involves identifying and expanding market opportunities within the SME and mid-corporate sectors through strategic partnerships and a focus on secured lending.
This senior leader will manage a team, drive new business acquisition, and build client relationships while structuring and negotiating complex loan transactions.
Candidates with a strong entrepreneurial mindset, extensive experience in credit and lending, and proven success in asset-backed financing are idealMinimum Requirements:NQF7 Advanced Diploma and / or Bachelor's degree in Business Management.
Communication or similarMinimum of 10-15 + years in business development and sales5 years in a senior manager/director role capacity and preferably within the secured and bridge lending industriesStrong conceptual skills with the distinct ability to contribute at strategic level and the ability to integrate BD and Sales activities with operational priorities and activities and obtain buy-in from all internal stakeholdersGood experience in credit and lending dealing with SMEs and/or mid-corporate business clientsVery good experience in sourcing, negotiating and structuring of asset-backed loan transactionsProven track record in negotiating and executing secured loan documentationStrong network dealing with SMEs and/or mid-corporate business clientsStrong commercial orientation and business acumenAble to be adaptive within a constantly evolving environment and prioritizing your deliveries according to redefined "most value/simplest solution" outcomesSkilled in Entrepreneurial and Commercial ThinkingSkilled in Formulating Strategies and ConceptsSkilled in Leading and SupervisingSkilled in Presenting and Communicating InformationSkilled in Working with PeopleDuties and Responsibilities:Strategic LeadershipDesign and lead an integrated business development and sales strategy and plan, in line with the overall business strategy, which includes establishment of a niche sales force, market research, competitive analysis, planning, execution and analysisBusiness DevelopmentResponsible for ultimately driving acquisition of new SME and mid-size corporate customers, lead generation and growth of the secured loan bookDevelop and deploy a niche BD/Sales force to directly engage businesses to source new clients.
Effectively expanding our strategy and intake sources from the current digital and ATL channelsRepresent the business in public forums, networking events and other as necessary, as a face of the businessIdentify opportunities and engage to source new partners, merchants, networks, banks, or other online lending platforms through which the company can grow its client baseSupport and leverage the current affiliate / broker-network program.
Cultivate (directly or through delegation to team members) relationships with potential affiliates and monitor performance of onboarded affiliates.
Ensure consistent and quality support for all referral and business partnersDrive new and existing channel development to sustain business growthProject Management of BD, Sales, and Marketing related projectsDrive all aspects of projects including meeting deadlines, time management, contingency planning, approval channels, and procedures, budgeting, campaign analysis, and monitoring procedures and stakeholder communication.Establish and articulate project scope, strategy and KPIsRisk ManagementAssessing risks to the company relevant to this department and ensuring they are reported on, monitored and minimized.
