Business Development AnalystThe Business Development Analyst supports the Head of Business Development in the execution of our BD strategies through analysing data, researching market trends, extracting possible leads and identifying business opportunities. The person in this position must demonstrate initiative, be able to work confidently with individuals across all levels of the organisational hierarchy and simultaneously manage multiple projects.Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe individual will primarily be responsible for executing the business development strategy for the South African market but may on occasion be required to work on our foreign portfolio.Strategic Planning – Working with the Head of Business Development and Senior Leadership to develop and execute strategic BD plans.Market research – conducting research on industry trends and market dynamics.Opportunity Analysis – assessing potential business development opportunities within existing and prospective clients, through quantitative and qualitative analyses.BD Project Management - Identifying, managing and implementing key BD projects, initiatives and campaigns for Spoor & Fisher to grow our engagement with our clients; help strengthen client relationships; and support targeted business growth opportunities.Managing data analysis and performance analysis – and compiling reports based on the analytics.Optimally utilising the CRM system to enhance client engagement and relationship management.Overseeing the tenders process, managing pitches, preparing presentations and pitch material.Reporting – preparing relevant reports for submission to various Business structures.People management and development.Desired Experience & QualificationPotential candidates should preferably be in possession of B Com degree (with a focus on Marketing/Business Development), or related qualification.Minimum of 3 years' experience, ideally in an IP firm, a general law firm or professional services environment.Knowledge, Skills & Personal AttributesStrong analytical skills and the ability to think outside the box.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively.Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Action-orientated with a positive 'can-do approach.'Strong organisation and planning skills.Advanced skills in MS Excel and PPT. Experience in Business Intelligence (BI) tools and dashboards would be advantageous.Knowledge of IP systems and service providers would be advantageous.
