MISSIONDue to its fast growth and the support of the shareholder Voltalia, an international leader in renewable energy, Helexia is expanding internationally and is looking for a Business Developer based in Cape Town or Johannesburg, South Africa. The Business Developer role is to identify & engage with new commercial & corporate prospects within South Africa, as well as support and report to the Business Development Manager in South Africa. The role includes prospecting new business, presenting complex energy solutions and closing of new business sales at a corporate/board level. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES (NOT LIMITED TO):Proactively find new accounts to develop additional business in the countryWillingness to travel regularlyProspect, identify and develop key accounts on the market, prospecting for opportunities and proven previous customer acquisition experience neededIdentify key stakeholders and decision makers within the customer businessCommercial development to reach the objectives setNegotiations and follow-up of contractsMaintain close relationship and communication with existing clients to understand their needs regarding energy efficiency services and identify new business opportunitiesRepresent the company in local and national exhibitions and conferencesCollaborate with the International Development Business UnitPrepare reports on business visits and meetingsPresent & close complex energy solutions at board level with key stakeholdersREQUIREMENTSBusiness School / Management / Engineering degree or equivalent professional experience with a proven record within the PPA sector3 to 5 years' experience in a mid to senior level in sales / business Development preferably at least 2 to 3 of which has been held within the solar / Infrastructure / EPC or renewables industryKnowledge of the photovoltaic and/or energy efficiency sectorExperience in managing complex sales processes requiring a consultative approach and a solid track record of closing complex dealsFluent in English (Additional local language beneficial)Valid SA Drivers license SPECIFIC SKILLS Positive and motivated attitudeCold calling and key account management skillRigour and sense of responsibilityAdaptabilityTeam spiritProblem-solving skillsExcellent interpersonal skills, listening skills, negotiation and curiosityGood oral and written communication skills Good IT skills, (MS Excel, Outlook & Word)Ability to multitask effectivelyGood time management and prioritization skills
