This role involves managing new data requests, ensuring data quality, providing data analysis, business analysis, requirements gathering and developing integrated reporting solutions to support the Client Solutions business. The role aims to drive data-driven decision-making by visualizing and presenting actionable insights.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOperational Management:Effectively manage the day-to-day operations of the Insights and Analytics team, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality PowerBI reports and data solutions.Develop and enforce standard operating procedures for data reporting and analytics.Continuously improve processes to enhance efficiency and quality.Identify and resolve operational issues promptly.Implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.Maintain clear communication within the team and with stakeholders.Provide regular updates on team activities and project progressMaintain clear communication within the team and with stakeholders.Provide regular updates on team activities and project progressConduct meetings with stakeholders to understand their data and reporting needs.Use structured methods to elicit detailed business requirements.Document requirements clearly and concisely.Maintain clear communication within the team and with stakeholders.Provide regular updates on team activities and project progressAnalyse business processes to identify data needs and opportunities for improvement.Translate business requirements into technical specifications for the development team.Create detailed documentation of business requirements, including use cases, data flow diagrams, and process maps.Maintain an organized repository of all requirement documents.Validate gathered requirements with stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completeness.Assist in prioritizing requirements based on business impact and urgency.Ensure high-priority items are addressed first in development cycles.Data Analysis and Reporting:Analyse complex data sets to generate actionable insights using PowerBI.Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all reporting solutions.Documentation Management:Maintain detailed documentation for all PowerBI models and data processes.Accessibility: Ensure documentation is easily accessible and understandable for all team members.Governance:Implement processes to monitor and improve data quality and integrity.Ensure all data analytics activities comply with relevant data protection and privacy regulations.Establish and enforce data governance standards and best practices across the team.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEEducation:Bachelor's degree, or equivalent in a relevant field Certifications:Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) (advantageous)Scrum Master certification (advantageous)Certification in Business Intelligence (BI) tools, such as PowerBI (advantageous)Experience:5 years of relevant experience in a related fieldExperience in the insurance industry (advantageous)SKILLS AND COMPETENCIESTechnical Skills:Proficiency in PowerBI, data modeling, and data reporting systems (e.g., Avaya POM, Qlikview, MS Office Suite).Strong understanding of call center functions and operations will be a distinct advantageManagement Skills:Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with strong people management skills.Analytical Skills:Ability to derive insights from data and present to diverse stakeholders.Communication Skills:Strong negotiation skills and ability to communicate complex data insights effectively.Behavioural Competencies:Client focus, decision-making, enabling innovation, change leadership, continuous learning, emotional intelligence, and strategic thinking. ABOUT THE COMPANYSantam is the market leader in the general insurance industry in Southern Africa.
