PositionThe Business Analyst is a trusted partner to the General Manager (GM), with the mission of providing a strong understanding of the business commercial performance, and enabling full ownership of the perimeter P&L for the GM.To do so the Business Analyst establishes reports of actual results and variance analysis for the cluster of COMMERCIAL EXPORTS markets.She/he is also the key business partner to consolidate market insights and management information for decision making, managing comprehensive sets of data and bringing them into a format that management can base their decisions on.This role reports to the General Manager, Commercial Exports and can be based in Nairobi, Kenya or Johannesburg, South Africa.Job ResponsibilitiesSALES PARTNEROrganize work to improve the efficiency of sales and analytics.Focus on developing and monitoring compliance with commercial strategy.Develop tools to monitor and develop commercial performance in coordination with regional team (e.g. Power BI dashboards). Train local team to maximize tools utilization.Analyse sales process reports (e.g., sales activity, sales opportunities, average time to close, win and loss characteristics, etc.) to identify areas for improvement in the sales process.Assist sales teams with sales reporting.BUSINESS ANALYSISWork closely with GM to report business performance (monthly shipments/depletions/stock tracking) and identify risks & opportunities vs forecast.Coordinate efficient information flow with AfME regional team.Partner with GM in preparing Business Reviews and ad hoc analysis for Senior Executives.Lead continuous improvement and teams collaboration to nurture organisation cross-functional performance.STRATEGIC PLANNINGSupport cluster Market Managers with dedicated analyses.LE/Pre-Budget forecast (TOPAZ retrieve and update through file creation, export, checks, and review with Market Managers).Support GM in 5Y plan update and Brand Planning.Study of alternative pricing solutions.DEMAND PLANNINGCoordinate orders management with supply chain.Work closely with Demand Planning team to provide an accurate phasing of shipment supply chain and reduce the variance vs forecast planning.Work closely with the Maison in coordination with GM to improve relationships with our distributors.A&P + FUNDS TO THE TRADEPrepare monthly reporting file to analyse and control invoices received from distributors.Follow up A&P budgets vs Actual (including achieved ROI) and organize monthly meetings to empower marketing and general managers in building brand value and business growth.Coordinate POSM follow-up on budget side as well as supply chain.Identify risks & opportunities to optimise spending and forecasting.Prepare monthly and end of year accruals in coordination with accounting department of Hennessy, MHCS and MH AfME.CASH & CUSTOMER CREDIT MANAGEMENTAnticipate credit limit issues to ensure orders' on-time delivery (incl. Coface).Ensure achievement of the DSO target.RISK MANAGEMENTMonitor sales operating procedures and controls in order to protect the company's physical and financial assets, people, and reputation.Provide full transparency over control designs and effectiveness within commercial activities ("Erica").Timely report issues, if any, to FM, MMs & GM; design and implement corrective actions.Coordinate internal and external audits / reviews.Warrant the effective and timely implementation of action plans arising from audits and internal control reviews.ProfileLanguages: English fluent, French as a plusProfessional experience:5Y experience in business controlling and/or finance, preferably in FMCG industry.Strong financial planning and analysis skills.Experience in generating process documentation and reports.Good business understanding, interested in sales and marketing.Technical & management skills:Strong knowledge of Excel (macro, programming), PowerPoint, multi-dimensional tools (ESSBASE, EOS, Microsoft database type) are necessary.Personal & interpersonal skills:Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.Integrity and rigor are a must, as well as proactivity and team spirit.Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail.Highly self-motivated and directed.Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure.Strong customer service orientation.Able to exercise independent judgment and take action on it.Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.Comfort with ambiguous, ever-changing situations.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionResearch, Analyst, and Information TechnologyIndustriesBeverage Manufacturing
