KEY RESPONSIBILITIES We have an opportunity for a Brand Manager to join our team, working closely with all our markets across Africa, as well as the multiple stakeholders based in South Africa. The Brand Manager will be responsible for creating and executing the local brand strategy for Betway, within the Casino & Crash Games portfolio. As a brand custodian, the Brand Manager will maintain brand consistency and integrity across all marketing initiatives and communications and ensure that the implementation of the Betway Casino brand is according to the corporate identity. The Brand Manager will be passionate, analytical, creative and ambitious with a hands-on attitude and will possess strong communication skills needed to maintain good relationships with all Stakeholders. Specific duties include but are not limited to the following: Brand Thought Leadership: Along with the Marketing Managers & in-country Marketing teams, conceptualise, execute and measure successful brand campaigns on a monthly basis that are in line with the business and market's objectives.Challenge and influence the direction of the brand, bringing ideas, inspiration and creative thinking to the team.Continuously analyse competitors' Marketing strategies in order to gain insights and understanding of the category.Have a sound understanding of the consumer behaviour, needs and choices within the category to influence the marketing initiatives that are required to fulfil objectives.Be immersed within the product and offering of Betway Casino to influence changes, improvements or product strategies that will enhance the experience of the players on the platform.Commission research for required audience studies and data findings.Provide weekly statuses to broader Marketing teams on all initiatives, plans and activities. Communication Keep up to date with any changes to the brand's CI and have a thorough understanding in order to appraise any creative artwork.Manage campaigns briefs with creative teams and guide the process to achieve the required results.Ensure campaigns are delivered according to brief and answer to business requirements. Media Execution: Be able to brief and evaluate TTL media campaigns and guide the incumbent media agencies to deliver according to set media objectives.Oversee optimal selection and usage of ATL channels.Oversee media planning and buying by agency ensuring that selected outlets are based on current media trends and sound media analysis.Ensure media insights, including competitor positions, are shared regularly with broader team.Have a thorough understanding of the local media landscape and be able to adapt strategies and plans to local trends.Optimise SOV and SOS across all channels according to required media objectives.Guide the media agencies to measure the effectiveness of all media placements and how this has impacted the brand's performance. Sponsorships & CSR: Be involved in the process of identifying and motivating new opportunities with the Sponsorship Manager that would be relevant for the brand.Manage the daily activities within the IP to ensure implemented according to set agreements.Share weekly status updates and ad hoc development.Continuously look for opportunities to amplify the local and global brand sponsorships to build credibility within the market.Ensure that Sponsorship & CSR initiatives are amplified across all relevant channels (eg social media, PR etc). PR: Along with the in-country Marketing teams, devise the local public relations plans for each market according to the brand's objectives.Brief PR agency and partners on plans and supervise their deployment of initiatives.Track and report PR activities within market and ensure results are managed and delivered by in-country teams. Trade Activations: Prompt the in-country teams to create & manage offline trade acquisitions through implementation of set activation strategies to acquire new players.Identify and engage channel partners for acquisition opportunities.Track and report competitor activities across online and offline channels regularly.Implement initiatives to motivate trade teams across the country and oversee local activities throughout the market.Ensure that each activation is executed according to brand guidelines and CI. Events: Brief and manage in-country Marketing teams to identify key event opportunities for brand association across varying disciplines.Oversee the implementation of local events, from brief to reporting, to ensure all Betway events are executed according to brand guidelines.Be able to source relevant stakeholders and entities who would assist in executing events, where needed, to a high standard along with in-country Marketing teams. Budget: Manage the input and consolidation of the monthly Marketing budget for Betway Casino.Rationalization of all marketing spend at market level to ensure efficient marketing investments.Track and monitor the budget across all channels to ensure it is in line with allocations and report on any unapproved activities. *This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of responsibilities. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related fields.3 – 5 years marketing experience.Brand awareness - a clear understanding of brand management and the marketing mix.Determination and perseverance.Perspective to see marketing from a global brand specialist's point of view that aids expansion and growth.Ability to think creatively and work cross-functionally within the brand manager job scope.Up-to-date with new marketing trends and basic brand manager tasks (experience within any African markets is an advantage).Excellent command of the English language along with written and verbal skills.Compelling research and analytical skills.Relationship management skills.A high degree of business acumen.Extremely detail-oriented and well organised.
