Our client based in Secunda is seeking a Branch Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate would be responsible for directing all operational aspects including Debtors/Creditors, Health and Safety, Gas rentals, Rental Hire, Stores and Stock Management, customer service, Human Resources administration, Payroll and administration.
Job Purpose: Skills Development - Providing training, coaching, development and motivation for personnel through HR.Accounting duties - Developing forecasts, financial objectives and business plans.Providing complete and appropriate solutions for every customer in order to boost tip-line revenue growth, customer acquisition levels and profitability. Key Performance Areas: Sales and Branch TargetsManagingOperationsHuman ResourceFinanceLogisticsGeneral Management Sales and Branch Targets: Continually and daily Conduct daily targets to set the selling pace for the monthBrand AwarenessInteract with customers on a regular basis to ensure satisfaction and gain useful feedbackResolving customer problems as neededMerchandising and training of various retail outlets set up to display and sell our products Weekly: Oversee Sales Budgets and Targets per staff member – discuss with staffWeekly sales and operational meetings – feedback, motivate, strategize, marketing brainstorm sessions, weekly or monthly special incentives, new productsKPI's monitorStay abreast of competing markets and provide reports on market movement and penetration. Discuss competitors and the impact on our sales and customersAssess local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales opportunities.Demonstrating and presenting the working of a product and its features, when required. Monthly: Organize marketing and networking events for staff promoting the presence and reputation of both the branch and company Yearly/annually: Develop and implement a sales plan for the branchBriefing employees on current sales, goals promotions and other relevant informationOrganizing marketing activities and events for the branchBudget of the Branch – oversees budget reports, preparation of budgets and analysis of budgetsPersonal liaison to Blue Chip Customers / Quoting on Bigger Tenders and or lower GP Margin quotes / Acquiring new Customers / Promoting healthy and honest business relationshipsPromote and support local business, growing the business network, getting involved with the Community and CharityMeet goals and metrics.Network to improve the presence and reputation of the branch and company.Assessing market conditions and identifying opportunitiesDrafting forecasts and business plansPresenting, promoting and selling products using so create solutions to existing and prospective customers.Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealers.Needs analysis for existing and potential customers to meet their needs.Submit quotations to customers based on the price lists with relevant product literature Managing: Managing budgets, allocating branch funds, and defining financial objectivesManages and supervises department employees, responsible for day-to-day supervision and leadershipKeeping ALL areas of the business running optimallyDirect all operational aspects including distribution operations, customer service, Human Resources, administration and sales Operations: Daily/Continually Ensure latest Supplier price lists are updated and shared with the Sales forceStock in Transit reports, and stock discrepanciesEnsure stock levels are adequate and within sales parameters – only stocking top 250 productsCreating specials on redundant stock to reduce stock daysImprove / Maintain Back Orders – feedback on stock not receivedStock checking, bins not allocated, Buy-Out maintenanceManage, Maintenance and direction on all departments to perform at peak performance Human Resources: Locate areas of improvement and propose corrective actions that meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities.Share knowledge with other branches and headquarters on effective practices, competitive intelligence, business opportunities and needs.Address customer and employee satisfaction issues promptly.Adhere to high ethical standards, and comply with all regulations/applicable laws.Recruiting, vetting, interviewing and hiring new employees, documentation as per regulations and Employment Equity with the assistance of the HR Department.Develop, maintain and optimize staff performance by identifying key capabilities, qualities and interests and matching this with available job opportunities within the branchEnsure staff know their job description, and have regular recorded meetings discussing their KPI's and performance achievedBring out the best of branch's personnel by providing training, coaching, development and motivation.Audit procedures and policiesFollow procedure on staff not performing as per regulations set out, following disciplinary code of conductEvaluate staff performance and recognize achievements Finance: Daily/Continually:Verify and audit GP marginsRental Hire – identify and improve key problem areas Checking and Verifying till close and cash on hand for cash salesCash Excel History – maintain all cash sales transactions, cash, card swipe, eft payments – ensure banking gets done timeouslyDevelop forecasts, financial objectives and business plansManage budget and allocate funds appropriately within expenses budget, achieving targets and goalsPetty Cash – check, authorize and verify that funds are allocated as per policies and procedures Weekly: Cash Advances – Cash sales not finalized on K8 – check and completeManage and authorize balancing of hire contracts between excel and K8Manage and verify that maintenance tracking and servicing of our assetsManage and verify all damages of assets are allocated correctly and appliedManage and verify that all repair orders sent in, are processed and completed timeously.Working weekly against budgets and targets and ensuring staff keep to their weekly tasks and performance required, providing training, coaching, development and motivation for personnel. Monthly: Compile Monthly payroll overtime and send to HR.Services exiting accounts(customers), create solutions, obtain orders, ensure a smooth sales process from start to finishDaily PlanningDaily Planning and organizing of Schedule to call on existing and potential sales outlets and other trade factorsAchieve Monthly and annually targets.ReportingKeep Management informed by submitting weekly call reports and weekly planning Logistics: Vehicles – ensure weekly vehicle inspections lists are done and handed inVehicle services – ensure that all vehicles are roadworthy, clean and have valid license, with services up to dateLogistics – Ensure proper routing is implemented and maintained to keep expenses as low as possible Other: Building – checks that all equipment and premises are up to business standards and maintainedAny other job-related tasks as required from your Manager, Director or Financial ManagerAll positions can be required to assist in another division or position on the farm, for career path reasons, multi skilling of employees and in-house promotion and training, as per management discretion.The performance, quantity or/and quality of all duties, must be best of the ability of the employee, for the good of the business.Attitude and loyalty toward the business is of utmost importance Safety: Apply Health and Safety Standards and RegulationsHealth and Safety file – check and verify that file is updatedCheck that all Safety licenses are updated and valid – First Aid etc. Skills and Attributes: Grade 12Tertiary Qualification will be advantageousMinimum 8 – 10 years experience in a similar roleSufficient knowledge of modern management techniques and best practicesAbility to meet sales targets and production goalsFamiliarity with industry's rules and regulationsExcellent organizational skillsResults driven and customer focusedLeadership and human resources management skillsProven Work experience as a sales representativeExcellent knowledge of MS OfficeHighly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in salesExcellent selling, communication and negotiation skillsPrioritizing, time management and organizational skillsAbility to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needsRelationship Management skills and openness to feedbackPerson must always be positive – never revealing negative feelings in front of staffPerson will be working very long hoursPlease note than only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
