Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant

Location: Somerset West, Western CapeRef: LRF25006Type: PermanentAn opportunity exists for a Bookkeeper or Junior Accountant to join a small but growing Accounting Practice on a permanent basis. This position, to be based in Somerset West, will assist Senior Accountants and Auditors with performing various bookkeeping and accounting functions for various clients.This junior position is ideally suited for a student who recently graduated or someone who is currently still studying accounting part time or after hours.Duties or parts thereof, dependent on experience:Monthly accounting and processing up to trial balance.Monthly bank reconciliations.Monthly journal entries.VAT reconciliations (assistance with income tax and provisional tax submissions).Responsible for calculating VAT, PAYE and other necessary SARS requirements on a monthly basis.Preparation of year-end schedules to support the preparation of annual financial statements as well as other admin duties.Sorting and filing of financial records.RequirementsRecognised Diploma or BCOM Degree in Finance or Accounting will be an advantage.Qualified by experience will also be considered.Professional registration will be an added benefit, but not essential. The client can also assist with this process.Min 2 years' experience unless you have recently completed your NDip or Degree studies and are looking for your first accounting job.Own transport.Salary: R13,000 – R16,000 per month, negotiable, dependent on skills and experience.
