Bookkeeper (JB4963) Location: Fourways, Johannesburg

We're seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in Fourways, Johannesburg.
The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, a strong understanding of VAT regulations, and proficiency in accounting software.
Portuguese language skills are essential to communicate effectively with our clients.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage various financial processes, ensure accuracy in reporting, and play a critical role in our accounting team.

Minimum Requirements: Fluent in Portuguese (Required) Matric with higher-grade accounts or an accounting/bookkeeping qualification 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience. Strong knowledge of VAT regulations. Proficiency in accounting software and reconciliations. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. Strong communication skills to interact with Portuguese-speaking clients. Problem-solving mindset for resolving queries and discrepancies. Responsibilities: Manage supplier invoices, reconciliations, and monthly payment schedules. Post weekly bank entries and complete reconciliations by the 5th of each month. Prepare VAT returns every two months, ensuring compliance with South African regulations. Reconcile accounts with customers and chase overdue payments. Conduct monthly stock reconciliations, aligning physical and theoretical stock. Maintain the general ledger with accurate postings, monthly accruals, and provisions. Prepare management accounts and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Assist team members with accounting queries and invoice capturing. Maintain an organized filing system for invoices, supplier records, and exportation paperwork.
