RPO Recruitment's client, a leader in plastic container manufacturing, is currently seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join their team of professionals in Cape Town. As a Bookkeeper, your primary responsibility will be to maintain the company's financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. You will work closely with the Accounting team to create and analyze financial reports, ensure compliance with legal requirements, process accounts payable and receivable, and manage invoices and tax payments. The ideal candidate will have a Finance degree and be familiar with accounting software packages. Accuracy in recording day-to-day financial transactions is essential for this role.ResponsibilitiesAble to perform the full accounting functionMaintain forex transactions including the tracking of payments, deliveries and clearing documentationReconciliation of foreign supplier accountsReconcile, maintain and submission of the Waste Management levy (EPR) in conjunction with the senior credit controllerCash book processing and Bank reconciliationsReview of wagesReconcile General ledger control accounts - problem solvingPayments - creditors and cashGeneral admin duties associated with the positionAssistance with the preparation of annual auditAdhere to all deadlines set by managementRequirementsCommerce degree/diploma in Financial Accounting/BookkeepingSAIPA/SAICA articles complete or 4-5 years' working experience as a bookkeeper, if no articlesSyspro experience advantageousMS Office SuiteStrong interpersonal skillsStrong administrative skillsGood communication skillsGood time management skillsFriendly yet assertive personalityAbility to work under pressureAttention to detail with a flair for accuracyBenefitsSalary R20-25K per month
