Bookkeeper

Job Title: Bookkeeper Location: JHB South Job Type: Full-time Department: Finance Key Responsibilities Intercompany Accounts Management Oversee intercompany transactions and ensure proper documentation and compliance with company policies. Manage intercompany balances and perform regular reconciliations to ensure accuracy. Coordinate with different departments and subsidiaries to resolve discrepancies and streamline intercompany processes. Reconciliations: Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of general ledger accounts. Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other balance sheet accounts. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies identified during reconciliations. VAT Management: Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with local tax regulations. Ensure timely and accurate VAT reporting and payments. Maintain proper documentation for VAT audits and liaise with tax authorities as required. Accounting Software (Pastel/Sage) Utilize Pastel or Sage software for bookkeeping, financial reporting, and other accounting functions. Maintain and update accounting records in Pastel or Sage. Generate financial reports and analyses using the software to support management decision-making. General Accounting Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts. Support month-end and year-end close processes. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Qualifications and Skills- bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred. - Minimum of 3-5
