Bookkeeper

A position has become available for a Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team.To perform all accounting and reporting related activities for all KZN retail group stores.KEY PERFORMANCE AREASWeekly collation of Store reporting.Review of Creditor Payments.Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.VAT reconciliations and VAT returns prepared timeously.Management and completion of store control accounts.Review Creditors & Debtors ageing and ensure maintained at current levels with support of clerks.Team Management & Supervision.Assist in the preparation and analysis of the monthly management accounts.Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, feasibility, and cost control analysis.Assist with audit year end requirements.Responsible for adherence to statutory requirements.Ensuring compliance with internal controls, best operating practices and the implementation and maintenance of adequate control systems both at DC & Store.Ad hoc tasks and duties.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSMatric.Degree or Diploma in Accounting.SAICA articles will be advantageous.A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar position.Retail industry experience is preferred.Proficient in all related computer applications including SAP, MS Office, etc.A high degree of confidentiality, emotional maturity, and integrity.Must have a high stress tolerance and the ability to prioritise and execute tasks efficiently in a highly pressurized environment.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, to interface effectively at all levels of the organisation and with external stakeholders.An innovative thinker and ability to solve complex problems.Must be collaborative, influential, and rational.Strong numeracy and analytical skills.Ability to recognise patterns and engage in high-level decision making.Precise planning and excellent organisational/administration skills.Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.Quality orientated and self-driven to achieve results.
