A manufacturing company in Montague Gardens, is looking for a vibrant, enthusiastic full-time bookkeeper to join their team!
Duties and Responsibilities: Manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger by processing and reconciling supplier invoices, payments, and statements in conjunction with other staff.
Oversee the full bookkeeping function, including bank reconciliations, trial balances, and year-end preparations.
Handle ad hoc and month-end payments.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Compile monthly management accounts and reports.
Prepare payroll.
Prepare and submit statutory returns, including WCA, UIF, VAT, PAYE, SARS eFiling, etc.
Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by management or the outsourced accountant.
Assist with monthly and annual budgets.
Provide administrative support to management, including filing, scanning, drafting letters, handling 30-day accounts, and processing refunds.
Manage basic accounts for a small property business (approx.
2 hours per month).
General ad-hoc duties as required by the company.
Skills & Experience Required: A strong work ethic, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
Degree, Diploma, or Bookkeeping Certificate.
Proficiency in relevant computer programs such as Xero, Payroll packages (e.g., SimplePay), and G-Sheets/Excel.
Experience in accounts to Trial Balance.
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong analytical and numerical abilities.
Minimum 2-3 years proven bookkeeping experience.
Honesty, integrity, and high ethical standards are essential.
